Job Description


HARBU MICRO FINANCE INSTITUTION S. Co. (HMFI) is established in 2005 and has received its micro financing license for the National Bank of Ethiopia in the same period.

1. Position Title: Regional Manager


Reports to: Operations Manager


Job Summary: The role of the regional manager is to plan organize coordinate lead and supervise the Regional Offices activities and personnel towards the achievement of the objectives of the Institution. She/he also controls and coordinates branches’ activities and provides technical support to branches. She/he makes sure that periodic planning and reports are accurately prepared and submitted to the Head Office.


Education and Work Experience: BA or BSC Degree from a recognized Institution in economics or development studies or other relevant social sciences

2. Position Title: Branch Manager


Reports to: Regional Manager


Job Summary: The role of the Branch Manage position is to plan, organize, lead and supervise the operational, financial administrative activities of the branch tuned towards the successful achievement of the Institutional objectives of HMFI .She/he ensures that selection, loan disbursement and collection procedures are properly followed and that ethical standards are maintained with respect to client handling. She/ he also makes regular follow-up and ensures that the portfolio of the branch is in healthy condition.


Education and Work Experience: BA Degree or Diploma from a recognized Institution in relevant field of social sciences. 2 years experience for BA, 4 years for Diploma

3. Position Title: Regional Internal Auditor I


Reports to: Risk Management & control Service Head


Job Summary: The Regional Internal auditor is responsible for conducting routine audit activities, verifying that all transaction of the Regional Office and that of the Branches are according policies, procedures and regulations. Ensures that all internal control policies and procedures of the institution are properly respected. Conducts regular follow-up and control over, but not limited to, saving contributions, loan disbursements and collection, remittances and other receipts and payments and ensures that these are properly handled


Education and Work Experience: BA Degree or Diploma in Accounting from a recognized Institution. 2 years experience for BA, 4 years for Diploma

4. Position Title: Regional Administration Officer


Reports to: Regional Manager


Job Summary: The purpose of the regional Administration Officer position is to keep complete, comprehensive and up-to-date records of personnel issues of the regional staff, sort and file correspondences f the office and keep relevant records of leave positions. She/he plans, organizes coordinates and controls the general service activities within the region. Ensures that all necessary administrative and logistics support is timely provided to branch offices.


Education and Work Experience: BA Degree or Diploma in Management or other related field of study.2 years experience for BA, 4 years for Diploma

5. Position Title: Accountant


Reports to: General Accountant


Job Summary: The purpose of the accountant is to execute efficient accounting record keeping for all financial operations of the Institution. Performs tasks related to verification, analyzing, summarizing and posting of financial transactions. Reconciles bank statements against books of accounts of the institution.


Education and Work Experience: BA Degree in Accounting or Diploma from a recognized institution. 0 years experience for BA, 4 years for Diploma

6. Position Title: Branch Accountant I


Reports to: Branch Manager


Job Summary: The purpose of the Branch Accountant position is to handle all financial activities of the branch office. She/he coordinates and leads the financial operations of the branch in accordance with the financial policies and procedures of the Institution as well as international accounting standards. She/he serves as member of Loan Approving Committee of the branch office. Ensures that all financial reports are accurately prepared and submitted to the respective department in time.


Education and Work Experience: BA Degree or College Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution

7. Position Title: Branch Cashier I


Reports to: Branch Manager


Job Summary: The Branch Cashier I is responsible for the Receipt, disbursement and safe custody of cash of the Branch Office. She/he receives and administers fixed assets and inventory supplies of the branch. She/he ensures that daily collections are deposited into bank daily intact.


Education and Work Experience: 10+2 and preferably 2 years experience as cashier .

8. Position Title: Saving and Credit Officer I (SCO I)


Reports to: Branch Manager


Job Summary: The purpose of the Saving and Credit Office position is to undertake social promotion, group organization, handling the mobilization of clients for savings, loan disbursement and collection activities in the branch. She/he screens organized clients according to their preference and facilitates loan approval, disbursement of approved loan and schedule collection.


Education and Work Experience: College Diploma or 10+2. 1 year experience for College Diploma, 3 years for 10+2

Place of Work: Addis Ababa Nazareth and Sagure
