BACKGROUND:


The Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) has been established by the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) to identify and address systemic bottlenecks to Ethiopia’s agricultural development. The Agency does this through problem-solving, implementation support, and capacity building of stakeholders involved in implementation of interventions that address the systemic bottlenecks. The Agency reports to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and serves as secretary to the Transformation Council, which is chaired by the Prime Ministe. 


The programmatic focus of the Agency responds to a core set of needs identified by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Transformation Council. Within the Agency, issues are divided into four different groups:  Production and Productivity which includes Inputs and Crop Protection, Livestock, Research and Extension, Mechanization, Rural Finance & Agro-Processing Value Addition; Agribusiness and Markets including Market Services, Market Infrastructure, Commercial & Contract Farming, Domestic and Export Market Development, and Cooperatives Development; Environmentally Sustainable and Inclusive Agricultural Growthincluding Sustainable Irrigation & Watershed Management, Sustainable Land Management, Gender Equality and Nutrition, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, and Planning and MLE; and Enhanced Implementation Capacity which includes ICT, Private Sector, and Organizational and Human Capacity. Across the programs, the ATA engages public, private and non-governmental stakeholders to support strategic planning, manage and strengthen implementation capacity and test innovative models.

POSITION SUMMARY:


Based on the above background, ATA is looking to recruit a Senior Project Officer (SPO) to work on model Farmers Training Centers (FTC) capacitation pilot project with sub-grantees, Federal and Regional BoAs, various development partners, and other stakeholders mainly to oversee and coordinate the implementation of the project within 5 Regions and 50 FTCs located in 50 different Woredas.


The SPO will work under Research and Extension Program assisting the Director of the Program in implementing model FTCs capacitation and other related extension activities.  The applicant is expected to have strong skills and experience in project management, stakeholder management and coordination, desire for improving the lives of small-holder farmers, and a deep familiarity with Ethiopia’s agricultural extension system with particular emphasis to FTC capacity building.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


The SPO’s  major duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Action plan implementation:  s/he provides necessary technical assistance & support for effective implementation of the action plan ( including  activities, milestones and targets)  prepared for this particular project plan in collaboration with other key stakeholders;

  • Coordination: s/he ensures the alignment of model FTC capacitation with agro-met project and other ATA initiatives existing within the operational areas;

  • Administration: s/he manages budget allocated for this project and technically managing the implementation of model FTC capacitation in collaboration with the Director;

  • Resource mobilization: s/he supports and facilitates the provision agreed budget for each sub-grantee per the agreement, clarify for effective utilization of the disbursed money, revise and update quarter and annual budget, facilitate budget payment request to each sub-grantee in consultation with the Director;

  • Implementation support: s/he expected to provide implementation support  to the sub-grantee based on the defined key tools including capacity building, problem solving and stakeholder coordination; in addition, s/he provides technical assistance related to procurement to expedite the process and ensure the quality of procurement and undertake specific procurements on behalf of the sub-grantee when deemed necessary;

  • Receive and review quarterly, bi-annual & annual report: s/he receives and reviews quarterly and bi-annual physical and financial plans submitted by the sub-grantee and disburse the requested fund that complies with the sub-grant;

  • Conduct joint quarterly follow up and supervision: s/he coordinates and conducts joint quarterly follow up and supervision in collaboration with Training and Advisory Service Directorate (TASD) of the MoANR, receive, review and compile weekly, monthly, bi-annual and annual submitted by the sub-grantee that detailing activities accomplished, and finance utilized to ensure activities are being executed as planned;

  • Monitoring, learning and evaluation: s/he provides necessary support on tracking and reporting of weekly, monthly and quarterly progress updates of the project in accordance with ATA’s online reporting system;

  • Remind ATA for the recruitment of independent auditor: s/he request for the recruitment of independent auditor to undertake annual audit of the sub-grant within six months after the end of each Fiscal Year;

  • Support other related extension activities: s/he is required to support the Director in  implementing other related extension activities; and

  • Provides information on utilized budget: In collaboration with ATA-Grantee Team seek information on utilized budget.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum BSc degree in Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, and/or other relevant field

  • At least 6 years of experience for MSc or 8 years for BSc in the field of agricultural extension/Agricultural Economics/Project implementation and/or other related disciplines

  • Fluency in writing and speaking English and Amharic and proficiency in English are essential. Knowledge of other Ethiopian languages desired

Preferred Qualifications


  • Understanding of Ethiopia’s agricultural system with a broad perspective on interactions between public, private and informal actors in the seed system

  • Deep understanding of Ethiopia’s agricultural extension system with a broad perspective on how the entire system operates and how the federal, regional-BoA, universities and International  Development partners interact and collaborate

  • Experience in project management, program design, performance management, stakeholder management, contract management, and MLE systems

Job Responsibility # 3:  Communication Activities

Role & Responsibilities:


The Logistics and Admin Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of an efficient and effective logistics and admin service in Gambella area. This includes implementing, monitoring and following-up across all logistics and admin disciplines to ensure that NRC standard policies and best practice is adhered to. The role will provide leadership, technical support and capacity building to the area logistics and admin staff. S/He is expected to take initiatives and provide guidance, support and services on all matters relating to the organization’s logistics and admin in order to support the achievements of NRC objectives.

Specific Responsibilities:


1.1 Effective Procurement Management:


¨      Ensure adherence to Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements;


¨      Maintain a high quality procurement system, which is accountable, transparent and compliant with NRC Procurement Policy and donor requirements;


¨      Coordinate the timely preparation of procurement plans for the office and projects, establishing deadlines and monitoring implementation;


¨      Coordinate the proper monitoring system and control of procurement processes including organization of Request for Quotation, Invitation to Bid, receipt and evaluation of quotations/bids, negotiation of certain conditions of contracts in full compliance with policies and procedures;


¨      Undertake supply and service provider pre-qualification, conduct market research, identify and recommend legitimate local suppliers or contractors through systematic evaluation and maintaining a database of potential and active suppliers/contractors;


¨      Coordinate the maintenance of data on local supply sources’ and overall performance, (competitive pricing, product quality and timely delivery) of suppliers/contractors;


¨      Be responsible for assessment of training and development needs, planning and implementation of capacity building efforts on procurement, storage and fleet;


¨      Guide the implementation of the internal control system which ensures that PRs are accurately prepared, Purchase Orders/contract are duly prepared, dispatched, scheduled and delivery are well organized and documented;


¨      Carry out periodic exercise of risk assessment for the supply/procurement/contracting process to determine high-risk areas and put in place control instruments;


¨      Ensure procurement records are kept and filed appropriately from authorized request to end users;


¨      Work with Procurement Officer in Addis on Gambella procurement and transport related matters.


 


1.2. Ensure a cost-effective fleet Management


 


¨      Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods;


¨      Coordinate the overall management of the area transport fleet and ensure response to programme needs are in line with NRC policies and procedures;


¨      Ensure that the procedure for completing travel plans are in place and maintained on a weekly basis, coordinating and communicating the same in a timely fashion;


¨      Ensure safe operation of the fleet through driver selection and training, quality maintenance to include preventive routine checks and regular service and establishing/enforcing fleet operating procedures;


¨      Monitor and ensure daily checks/preventive maintenance checks and log books are carried out and ensure that drivers follow the system consistently;


¨      Ensure vehicle service schedules are respected and proper, timely and high quality maintenance is done by service providing garage;


¨      Manage fuelling of fleet and fuel contracts ensuring regular fuel consumption test is carried out;


¨      Ensure that all vehicles are parked in a safe and secure location after working hours in all NRC work locations;


¨      Ensure security of fleet keys and ensure drivers and other authorized user follows key sign in and out procedures;


¨      Review fleet management related issues regularly and advise support manager as appropriate;


¨      Prepare and submit regular reports including monthly fleet reports, break downs, accidents, fuel usage, fleet KPIs;


¨      Continually improve transport systems, policies and procedures, and identify existing problems, challenges and recommend improvement measures/plans.


 


1.3. Ensure effective Warehouses and Stock Management practices


 


¨      Implement and ensure full compliance with the NRC warehouse policies and procedures ensuring appropriate systems for the receipt and dispatch of all supplies;


¨      Guide the logistics officers and store keepers in effective stores and stock management principles ensuring right records are in place;


¨      Carry out monthly physical stock counts and reconciliation including recommendations for management decisions. Support regular auditing of all inventory and inventory related documentation;


¨      Build the capacity of store keepers in effective store management;


¨      Coordinate the preparation of monthly Stock Reconciliation Reports and disseminate relevant information to programme managers and users.


 


1.4 Overseeing the provision of administrative support for the Field office


 


¨      Developing and maintaining internal and external cleanliness standards of the office premises to ensure a good working environment;


¨      Continuous improvement of the organizational image through ensuring proper office lay out and outlook;


¨      Ensuring that reception services are provided in such a fashion that visitors are provided with a warm welcome and that their needs are swiftly attended to;


¨      Make certain that there that an adequate stock of break tea and cleaning supplies and materials is maintained whilst ensuring that break tea is provided  to a high standard of quality and hygiene;


¨      Ensuring that all the field office utility bills, guest house and warehouse rents are paid on time;


¨      Setting up systems and procedures to ensure the safety of all NRC property including fire safety, availability of first aid and general safety management;

1: Team management: (related to ACF staff)


·         Participate in the recruitment of staff;


·         Draw up a planning of the work involved for each post;


·         Organize regularly evaluation meetings of team members;


·         Organize training courses;


·         Organize monthly meetings with the team and report the outcome to the Nutrition PM;


·         Keep an updated register of the staff (absences, overtime);

·         Makes sure that the HEWs and ACF nutrition team have adequate training on the management of acute malnutrition per National manual


  • Identify training gaps in the woreda

·         Plan on-the-job and refresher trainings according to the weaknesses identified


·         Adapt training material according to the identified needs


  • Provides technical support and training where required to all team members including HEWs in collaboration with woreda health office,

  • Analyse the nutritional situation;

·         Compile the statistical data and draft a report on activities.


·         Coordinates the link of acute malnutrition cases with EOS/TSFP and facilitates regular registration of Non-EOS beneficiaries and submits on monthly bases


·         Ensures the availability of job aids, reporting formats, therapeutic products and drugs for program implementation


·         Support the government health staff in the management of SC and for the strengthening of  the program


3: Data management, reporting and program Development;


·         Ensure proper recording of the information related to the   implementation of the CMAM program in the nutrition centers including care practices, appetite test, health and nutrition education and home-visiting

Updating the Deputy Nutrition Program Manager on the status of the program and performance of the staff

4: Represent the organization in relation with the project to the local authorities and other partners:

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world, including Ethiopia. DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. Under its mandate, the organization focuses on emergency humanitarian response, rehabilitation and post-conflict recovery.


DRC commenced work in Ethiopia in 2009 and currently provides expertise in shelter, WASH, livelihoods and protection in the Gambella and Somali regions of the country. Activities implemented by DRC are funded by money raised from the Danish public and by project grants from the Danish government and other bilateral and multi-lateral donors.


DRC is in the process of starting a new program in Tigray regional state, where the organization anticipates implementing a variety of youth protection activities in Hitsats, Shimelba, Mai-Aini and Adharush refugee camps, which are currently hosting a combined population of over 30,000 Eritrean refugees.


POSITION’S OVERALL OBJECTIVES


The Shire-based Deputy Area Manager will work directly under the Area Manager to setup DRC’s new field office in Shire and to support the overall implementation and strategic direction of the organization’s current and future projects in Tigray regional state. The Deputy Area Manager will be the direct supervisor of program staff in the protection sector and will regularly work with other program staff as well as support staff in the Area Manager’s absence. Specifically, The Deputy Area Manager Manager will lead DRC’s protection programming in Tigray regional state and will support a consistent integration of a rights-based approach into all DRC’s program activities in the region. Furthermore, the Deputy Area Manager will be required to provide daily support and guidance to project cycle management, proposal development and program strategy, with specific contributions in the area of technical protection knowledge. The Deputy Area Manager will ensure the successful implementation of all protection-related activities and will work collaboratively with the Area Manager to monitor the operating context to ensure DRC’s programing is relevant and responsive to priority humanitarian needs. In this capacity, the Deputy Area Manager is also responsible for working closely with the Area Manager to represent DRC publically at the site level, including in coordination fora, with other agencies and with ARRA, and for providing the direct link in communications between DRC’s Shire field office and the organization’s Addis Ababa office. Finally, it is essential the Deputy Area Manager collaborates with the Area Manager to provide safety and security management of the Shire-based team and ensures all safety and security measures, including contingency plans and standard operating procedures, are in place and well understood by all staff.


POSITION’S SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES 


The Deputy Area Manager, in coordination and cooperation with the Area Manager and program and support staff, is expected to pursue the following objectives in her or his daily work:


  1. Contribute to the overall setup of DRC’s new field operation in Tigray regional state.

  2. Recruit and develop an effective, multi-disciplined protection team, while ensuring cohesiveness and positive teamwork, knowledge of core protection concepts and full compliance of DRC’s code of conduct, while actively identifying opportunities to improve capacities of staff.

  3. Support the strategic direction of the Tigray regional state protection program and co-leading or leading regular programmatic and budgetary reviews, context analyses and the development of project proposals.

  4. Contribute to the improvement of site-level systems and procedures, and ensure compliance by all staff, especially protection staff, with DRC policies. This includes coordinating the development and regular review of work, procurement and spending plans inline with rigorous project management standards.

  5. Represent DRC publically at the site level, including in coordination fora, with other agencies and with ARRA, and for providing the direct link in communications between DRC’s Shire field office and the Addis Ababa office

  6. Coordinate with the Area Manager to provide site-level leadership in ensuring safety, security and wellbeing of all staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS


To achieve the overall and specific objectives of the position, the Deputy Area Manager will perform the following tasks and undertake the following responsibilities:


  1. Management and Coordination:

  • Overall responsibility for the recruitment and daily management of the Shire-based protection team, including ensuring positive and collaborative working relationships in line with DRC’s Code of Conduct and assessing staff capacity to provide or recommend relevant training or coaching as needed.

  • In the absence of the Area Manager, assume responsibility for managing the Shire office, including ensuring compliant financial operations and budgeting, administration, human resources, logistics, procurement and security in compliance with DRC and donor regulations.

  • Represent DRC publically at the site level, including in coordination fora, with other agencies and with ARRA, and for providing the direct link in communications between DRC’s Shire field office and the Addis Ababa office.

2. Programming: 


  • Provide oversight of all protection-related programming in Tigray regional state in compliance with core protection principles and DRC and donor regulations while upholding rigorous project cycle management standards.

  • Lead in the design and management of all protection-related interventions in Tigray regional state as per international best practice standards.

  • Conduct needs assessments to inform program design as well as identify risks and vulnerabilities, including those related to gender, age and diversity.

  • Develop concrete initiatives to reduce protection risks experienced by the Eritrean refugee population in Tigray regional state as well as specific strategies which build upon existing assets within the population.

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Shire’s protection programming through active and ongoing participation in and contribution to strategic planning meetings and development of strategic documents.

  • Work with the Area Manager, Head of Programs, Deputy Country Director, and finance team to contribute to new project development, including both narratives and budgets, by coordinating and compiling inputs from other technical and support staff.

  • Ensure the timely and quality delivery of all protection-related organizational and project reports and staff contributions to organizational monitoring and evaluation requirements to ensure project quality, relevance and accountability to DRC’s beneficiary populations.

  • Collaborate with the Area Manager and Addis Ababa based Protection Coordinator to ensure field-based protection records and documentation are properly managed and compliant with DRC requirements and best practices.

  • Support staff to integrate protection concerns and awareness in other sectors as relevant.

3. Finance and Administration:


  • Assume responsibility as primary budget holder of all protection-related activities and lead in the development of protection-specific budgets and spending plans.

  • Maintain a budget overview of all protection-related projects and activities, and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager and Addis Ababa based finance team to monitor spending and ensure the timely utilization of all grants.

  • Ensure full compliance with DRC and donor financial guidelines and policies.

  • In the absence of the Area Manager, oversee responsibility for daily cash counts as well as cashbook reconciliations.

 4. Human Resources:


  • Manage the Shire-based protection team and support respectful and positive working relationships which allow for the effective implementation of all protection activities. This is to be achieved through leadership, team building, day-to-day support, capacity-building and strong, generalist knowledge of core protection concepts.

  • Support site-level recruitment processes, especially for the protection team, and ensure that relevant staffing structures are in place and are reflective of appropriate gender balance.

  • Promote professional development by identifying training and capacity building opportunities and ensure protection staff are well versed in core protection concepts, DRC’s code of conduct, accountability, respectful dialogue with the refugee population, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.

  • Collaborate with the Area Manager and Addis Ababa human resources department to ensure staff evaluations are conducted on a regular basis.

 5. Logistics and Procurement:


  • Collaborate with the Area Manager, Logistics and Procurement Officer and Addis Ababa based logistics and procurement team to develop and maintain protection-specific procurement plans.

  • Ensure the budgeting of projects, and protection activities in particular, incorporate logistics and support costs such as significant transport and warehousing needs for procurement-heavy activities.

  • Ensure logistics and procurement processes are in place and fully compliant with DRC and donor policies and standards.

  • Collaborate with the Area Manager and Logistics and Procurement Officer to ensure field-based records are well managed and fulfill DRC and donor requirements and are always up-to-date for use in donor reports.

  • Monitor protection-related budget lines to ensure spending is inline with project timelines and implementation schedules.

  • Regularly review protection-related procurement plans with the Area Manager and Addis Ababa based procurement and logistics team and finance team to adjust spending as required in advance of project closure.

6. Safety and Security:


  • Support the Area Manager in ensuring the responsibility for staff safety in the area of operation.

  • Support the Area Manager in ensuring that all relevant information regarding safety, security and the context is collected, updated and shared in a regular and timely manner.

  • In the Area Manager’s absence, collaborate with the Addis Ababa based Deputy Country Director or Country Director to make decisions and manage security incidents at a local level.



QUALIFICATIONS 


  • Graduate degree in law, social sciences, education, international development, or other relevant field.

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of work experience within the field of law or protection, particularly within the field of humanitarian response and refugee protection, with experience working for an international NGO, UN agency or relevant ministry or local authority.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in general project management.

  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.

  • Strong written and spoken English, Tigrinya and Amharic.

  • Knowledge of Office software packages and experience using data analysis tools.

POSITION’S OVERALL OBJECTIVES


Working under the direct management of the Protection Team Leader, the GBV Response Officer will support the overall implementation and strategic direction of the organization’s current and future Protection activities in Gambella regional state. The GBV Response Officer will be tasked with the direct supervision of Refugee Incentive Staffs. Furthermore, the GBV Response Officer may be requested to provide support and guidance to project cycle management, proposal development and program strategy, with specific contributions in the area of technical Protection knowledge. The GBV Response         Officer will work closely with the Protection Manager, Protection Team Leader and GBV Prevention Officer to ensure the successful implementation of all Protection-related activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS


To achieve the overall and specific objectives of the position, the GBV Response Officer will be responsible for all gender-based violence (GBV) prevention-related activities in the community, including trainings, workshops, awareness-raising activities, and campaigns with government actors, community leaders, women and adolescent groups, and community members the officer will perform the following specific tasks and undertake the responsibilities:


1. Technical Support:


  • Monitor & supervise case management by facilitating capacity building activities to social workers who are working with case management.

  • Build a relationship with all relevant GBV program stakeholders (health, legal, protection, psychosocial) in the camp and the local community to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners from the protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors.

  • Provide response related trainings for the legal, health, protection and psychosocial sectors in collaboration with GBV Prevention Officer.

  • Set the strategy and agenda for the coordination meetings and ensure minutes are shared with all members of the coordination meetings in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with stakeholders and GBV Prevention Officer to develop strategy, design exercises, and conduct mentoring exercises with health officers, police and ARRA protection team.

  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement standard operating procedures and monitor referral pathway to ensure easy access to all GBV services.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual work plans.

  • Submit GBVIMS incident recorder every month to the Protection Manager/ Team Leader. Utilize statistics and ongoing trends to determine program needs.

  • Develop monthly outreach plan with social workers, based on case trends and ongoing needs of women and girls, include strategies to reach women and girls who are more isolated/have special needs.

  • Work in collaboration with GBV Prevention Officer to ensure ongoing needs of women and girls in the camp are being met through prevention-related activities.

  • Collaborate with the GBV Prevention Officer to organize awareness raising events, including mass awareness events and ensure response related topics covered in these events.

  • Compile monthly report and submit to Protection Manager, in collaboration with GBV Prevention Officer.

  • Estimate quarterly program purchase requests according to the field requirements and submit requests on time.

  • Monitor supply and logistical needs of project and ensure adherence to all relevant DRC logistic policies, including management of materials in the warehouse including management of materials in the warehouse.

  • Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is complete and submitted to finance in a timely manner as required by DRC finance policy.

  • Organize and lead case management meetings with relevant stakeholders.

  • Assume any other task designated by the Protection Manager/Protection Team leader to ensure proper functioning of the Protection Program.

2. General Management and Support:


  • Manage all Incentive social workers, supporting respectful and positive working relationships which allow for the effective implementation of all DRC Protection activities. This is to be achieved through leadership, team building, day-to-day support and capacity-building.

  • Undertake daily supervisory, monitoring and support visits to project locations.

3. Reporting:


  • Under the direction of the Protection Team leader, the GBV Protection Officer should support in the local level reports for both internal and donor purposes on all Protection related activities. This will include providing weekly reports to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Officer.



QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in in Social Work and Social Administration or other relevant field from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an entry to mid to level position, preferably with experience in the NGO field.

  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent verbal and written proficiency in Aywaa, Murle, Amharic and English.

  • Ensure trainings and mentorship activities are done in accordance with DRC policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs.

  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans and reports in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is completed accurately as required by DRC finance policy.

  • Develop monthly outreach plan with social workers, based on case trends and ongoing needs of women and girls, include strategies to reach women and girls who are more isolated/have special needs.

  • Work in collaboration with Response Officer to ensure ongoing needs of women and girls in the camp are being met through prevention-related activities.

  • Collaborate with the GBV Response Officer to organize awareness raising events, including mass awareness events and ensure response related topics are covered in these events.

  • Compile monthly report and submit to Protection Manager, in collaboration with GBV Prevention Officer.

  • Monitor supply and logistics needs of the project and make sure the materials are in place. Should also ensure adherence to all relevant DRC logistics policies, including management of materials in the warehouse.

  • Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is complete and submitted to finance in a timely manner as required by DRC finance policy.

  • In the absence of the GBV Response Officer or any other Protection person, the officer will organise and lead case management meetings with relevant stakeholders.

  • Take over any other task designated by the Protection Manager/Protection Team leader to ensure proper functioning of the Protection Program.

2. General Management and Support:


  • Manage all Incentive social workers, supporting respectful and positive working relationships which allows for the effective implementation of all DRC Protection activities. This is to be achieved through leadership, team building, day-to-day support and capacity-building.

  • Undertake daily supervisory, monitoring and support visits to project locations.

3. Reporting:


  • Under the direction of the Protection Team leader, the GBV Protection Officer should support in the local level reports for both internal and donor purposes on all Protection related activities. This will include providing weekly reports to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Officer.



QUALIFICATIONS 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration or other relevant field from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an entry to mid-level position, preferably with experience in the NGO field.

  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent verbal and written proficiency in Aywaa, Murle, Amharic and English.

ADDITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS


  • Clear understanding of gender related issues surrounding violence against women and girls.

  • Experience collaborating in protection, gender and human rights related activities.

  • Experience working with youth through community mobilizations and participatory approaches.

  • Ability to lead, train, supervise, facilitate and motivate other GBV staff in their respective tasks in a professional, respectful and supportive manner.

  • Excellent personnel management skills, including diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.

  • Strong planning, organization and problem solving skills with ability to work both independently and within a team in a demanding work environment.

  • Experience living and working in cross-cultural and remote environments. And ability to work as a member of a team is essential.

  • Integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to consistently meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for beneficiaries at all times is essential.

  • Positive and professional attitude.
