Job Purpose:

Responsible to assist Imported Goods Logistics Manager in the coordination of Imported Goods Logistics processes and activities. Support the Imported Goods Logistics Manager to   execute timely and cost-effective import logistics processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure that proper documentation, including shipping documents and customs clearances, are in place for shipments.

• Follow-up documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to suppliers, banks, customs, carriers, National Bank of Ethiopia and other stakeholders in a timely manner.


• Assist Imported Goods Logistics Manager in handling the technical details of international transportation, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations, developing transport strategies, and building relationships with logistics intermediaries.


• Liaise with local banks to process  FOREX requests & documentations


• Liaise with Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Enterprise to process shipping documents


• Liaise with Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority to process customs documentation and related issues


• Assist the Imported Goods Logistics Manager to troubleshoot any issue that may arise in international freight transportation, customs, banks and other stakeholders.


• Maintain imported goods logistics key milestones database (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, etc.)


• Support overseeing the imported good transport process


• Support Imported Goods Logistics Manager to ensure the imported goods Logistics team complies with international requirements


• Assist Imported Goods Logistics Manager to safeguard imported goods logistics operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.


• Work on other assignments and special projects as assigned by the Imported Goods Logistics Manager or the Logistics Senior Manager

 Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management (preferably with focus on Transportation/Logistics) or related fields


• Minimum of 3 years in FMCG and/or Logistics industries (knowledge of import and customs processes is a plus).


• Sound knowledge of best practices and up-to-date approaches in Imported Goods Logistic management.


• Knowledge of customs regulations and international freight transportation


• Standard business office software (knowledge of ERP systems is a plus)


• Team player, flexible, analytical, problem solving, self-starter, effective negotiator and communicator


• Independently handle tasks in a tight deadline,
