GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of development, resiliency and humanitarian responses – working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders. Currently GOAL Ethiopia’s major funders are USAID/OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid/MAPS, Irish Aid/EHAF, UNOCHA.GOAL currently work in over 25 woredas across four Regions of Ethiopia and we deliver a range of programs including child protection, development, nutrition, emergency relief and rehabilitation. In 2005 GOAL, in partnership with USAID/OFDA, established the Humanitarian Response Programme (HRP) to respond to emergency nutrition situations in Ethiopia. This programme has grown substantially over the years, and is now multi-donor and multi-sectorial, with interventions throughout Ethiopia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

GOAL is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional to fill the post of Trainee CMAM Nurse for its Humanitarian Response Programme Office, to be intensively trained on CMAM/OTP/SC /emergency intervention approaches.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be an experienced with humanitarian works. You will receive a full training package and will be engaged into the overall management of the day to day activities of GOAL Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) Field site. The incumbent will also be responsible for, among other things, ensuring that CMAM medical protocols are followed and give support to MoH staff that undertake clinical and physical examination of all children referred to the Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) programme on day to day basis. You must be eligible to work in Ethiopia.

• Recently graduated with Diploma/Bsc in Nursing or Public Health with demonstrated strong academic credentials (CGPA) with 0-2 years’ experience.


• Willingness to live and work in remote and rural areas,


• Willingness and alert to learn and strive to develop capacity,


• High level of accuracy, attention to details,


• Flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate,


• Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,


• Ability to work in team,


• Gender Sensitive.

Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences: (list of qualities that are considered desirable for the specific post):

·         Knowledge of local language.

Remuneration & Benefits:

      Salary: Birr 5, 124.00/month

      Pension-  (11% from employer and 7% from employee).

      Transportation Allowance – 10% of monthly salary

      Hardship Allowance, 30% – 50% (depending on the location) of monthly salary with full accommodation is provided in the office compound with a canteen.
