Job Description

1. Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles, such as reefer truck and trailers.
2. Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
3. Direct investigations to verify and resolve internal customer or shipper complaints.
4. Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
5. Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
6. Ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with Ethiopian laws and regulations, particularly relating to health and safety;
7. Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets.
8. Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
9. Negotiate and authorize contracts with equipment and materials suppliers, and monitor contract fulfillment.
10. Monitors user departments by analysis of vehicle and equipment utilization and evaluation of equipment specifications.
11. Getting MIS generated on a daily basis, productively updating operational issues to management.

Degree in related field and who has proven track record in managing a highly commercial operation in a fast-paced environment.

Experience of effectively running a successful transport function in a high pressure environment. Responsible for the transport and (distribution if needed in future) operations and also for providing excellent standards of service, efficiency and performance through outstanding people management skills.
