Ethiopia: Programme Officer Language and Literacy (National Post) - Ethiopia

Link Community Development is seeking applications from suitably qualified Ethiopian Citizens for the post of Programme Officer Language and Literacy. Based full-time in Wolaita Sodo, the successful candidate will work as part of the LCD programme team supporting language competence across 45 schools and two woredas in partnership with the Regional Education Bureau and Wolaita Zone Education Department

Key duties include:

• Responsible for ongoing implementation of the Language and Literacy (LAL) project in all target schools, ensuring timely, efficient and well-coordinated delivery


• Coordinate and oversee woreda and school level training and all capacity building aspects of the project


• Coordinate and oversee resource production, distribution and usage


• Responsible for ensuring schools receive materials that the project offers at the appropriate time and that remaining materials are stored and carefully monitored


• Reporting to Programme Manager regarding all aspects of LAL project implementation


• Line manage a LAL Project Officer


• Foster positive working relationships with Wolaita Zone Education Department, 2 woreda education offices, schools and communities (in consultation with Programme Manager).


• Serve as the initial point of contact for woreda officials and school leaders should issues arise, and be available to visit each target school on regular basis


• Support planning, monitoring and reflection of the LAL project with regional, zone and woreda managers


• Ensure effective use of data to inform planning throughout the LAL project


• Liaise closely with the M&E consultants for baseline, mid line and end-line evaluation planning and data collection


• Support to networking/ dissemination and representation of LCDE


• Coordinate and take part in Project Management committee meetings
