DESA PLANTS PLC is a foreign investment company in the horticulture sector located in Ejersa, 9km from Modjo. Our main activities are production and export of high quality seedlings of ornamental plants to the European and USA market.

REPORTING TO: General Manager and Management Team
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We look for a highly qualified and experienced Production Manager who will plan and direct all production activities within the production department. The Production Manager will have the following duties and responsibilities through own input and by coordinating his supporting staff:

Make yearly and seasonal production planningCheck and confirm availability of cuttingsMake general crop planningEnsure that the planned targets are achievedEnsure that the crops are grown in accordance to their requirement in order to give maximum productionAssist in the design of appropriate spraying programs and ensure that these are carried out correctlyEnsure the correct operation and maintenance of different crops is executed timelyEnsure all irrigation systems and other equipment are working properlyMake sure crops are harvested on time and stored and treated appropriatelySupervise, control, assess and train workersSet targets for efficiency of workers and achieve targets in all areasFollow up and ensure recording of all the necessary dataOrganize & report daily, weekly & monthly meetings of supervisors, agronomists and other workers

WORK EXPERIENCE: Preferable five or more years of relevant work experience in the position of production manager with a minimum of two years.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Minimum requirement is BSc Degree in Horticulture with minimum two and preferable 5 years of relevant work experience in the position of production manager.

SKILLS: Good computer skills. Very fluent in both written and verbal English communication.
