Presently, the company is undergoing major restructuring to increase its efficiency and market presence. Reports to: Finance Manager
The Credit manager is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the credit worthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
Key duties and responsibilities
Management
Properly motivate the credit and collections staffMeasure department performance with appropriate metrics Provide for ongoing training of the credit and sales staffManage relations with the sales department
Credit Operation
Maintain the corporate credit policyAs required, recommend changes in the credit policy to senior managementInterface with sales department to communicate credit decisions and ensure timely review of new customers.Make credit decisions within the assigned authority as specified in the credit manual.Review and evaluate documentations and payment terms with customers to ensure transactions are properly secured.Analyze accounts and prepare report on high risk accounts including recommendations for resolution.Monitor receivables, collections, provide updates of receivables and provide appropriate reporting procedures.Maintain bad debt provision and bad debt recovery records.Manage customer credit files.
Location
Based in Addis Ababa with 20 % of time spent travelling to regional towns
Salary and benefits
