Construction Supervisor Job at Action Contre La Faim - 2015

1: Ensure the upkeep of the ACF buildings:

Activities:

Keep the buildings in good working order;Weekly check of the plumbing and electrical materials and the locks;Replace light bulbs and other electrical equipment;Inform the logistician in the capital of any problem concerning  the building;Ensure the hygiene and sanitation of the buildingsMaintain ACF compounds and gardensReport the maintenance needs to the Logistician capitalContact the appropriate technicians for the maintenance worksEnsure that the repairs are properly done (materials replaced…) before payment of the technician;Inspect and recommend all maintenance work completed and submit contract completion report to logistics.Help in the carpentry and mason work when required to all ACF construction sites in Gambella.

 2:  To provide Security ACF buildings:

Activities:

Work with Logistician at Gambella and Leitchor level to conduct weekly security checks to ensure that all ACF operated properties meet safety and security standards and alert  to any issues;Support logistics in the management of health and safety issues, such as;Fire safety (all fire extinguishers are accessible, maintained, fire exits are in place and clear),Cleanliness of external and internal premises of the compounds,Working environment and space are managed.Oversee all maintenance contractors to ensure quality and completeness of work performed

 3: Miscellaneous tasks:

Activities:

Help with the loading or unloading of vehicles;Help the other employees if necessary;Ensure the treatment of waste: regroup and incinerate or organize the removal of waste.Ensure that the sceptic tanks are maintained in the guest house and offices;Report on any outstanding job that requires specialist attention  to Logistics;

Diploma in Technical and Vocational Training College /TVT or equivalent diploma in masonry or professional experience in vocational work is mandatory.

Required skills: Precision in measurement and recording, capacity to work in team, flexibility, Humanitarian spirit, human relations and communication skills; Knowledge of the local language of the working area (fluent) and English (desirable).All rounded experience is advantageous.
