It is to be recalled that the Council of Ministers endorsed a regulation for the establishment of a new Ethiopian Agricultural Commodities Warehousing Services Enterprise (EACWSE) that will separately and independently handle warehousing services of agricultural commodities as an offspring of the Exchange. Following the direction, the Exchange has established a spinoff team and rigorously working on the implementation process.

Therefore, the Exchange invites competent and qualified internal/External candidates for the following position for the newly established Enterprise.

Specialist, Finance – Contract

 With duty station in Addis Ababa and reporting to Chairperson, Spinoff project team, you will be responsible to:

 JOB PURPOSE

Timely record financial transactions and ascertain the accuracy of financial as well as accounting documents in line with ECX’s financial policies and procedures. Check all payments and collections, code and post accounting data using Peach Tree accounting system. Ensure the timely collection/payment of the Exchange’s receivables/obligation. Assist the Division in the preparation of periodic financial reports.

Carries out his/her functions in line with the Financial Manual, principles, procedures, and guidelines of the Exchange;Ensures that planned activities are carried out in line with the approved annual plan and budget; prepares budget utilization and costing reports including variance analysis;Ensures that all payments made are as per the Treasury Procedure Manual;Ensures that all payments are adequately supported by appropriate evidences and proper documentation of same; Consolidates and produce monthly report of collections and payments;Ensures that the necessary format and documentation is used before and after payment is effected; ensures effective documentation of financial evidences under his/her custody;Ensures the timely collection/payment of the Exchange’s receivables/obligation, and make intact follow up of same;Ensures that all financial data are properly and timely coded and entered into the accounting system; keeps and safeguards all financial documents in a chronological order;Ensures tax and other liabilities are paid out to the relevant beneficiaries on time;Makes account closure at the end of the financial year timely and works closely with external auditors for audit of the reports;Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BA or MA in Accounting, FinanceCertificates of Peachtree Accounting and MS Office/ can demonstrate efficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel)Certification such as ACCA is preferredB.A. & 5 years of experience in directly related work experience OR M.A. & 3 years of experience in directly related work experience.Knowledge of the country’s rules and regulations such as the Tax Law and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
