Salary: This is an unpaid internship, but expenses of travel, accommodations and meals paid based on Country Office rates. The intern is responsible for their own vaccinations (pre-departure), required medications and travel/health insurance for the duration of their stay and any other related costs.
Duration: Full time 6 month fixed term contract starting from August 2015.
Location: Ethiopia (75% in field office of Afar region and 25% in Addis Ababa)
CARE Ethiopia is recruiting an intern to directly support the Pastoralist Afar Girls Education Support Project (PAGES) in the Afar region of Ethiopia. This transformative project is part of the DFID funded ‘Girls Education Challenge’ (GEC) portfolio. The PAGES project adopts an integrated model focusing on critical supply and demand side changes, to contribute to the improvement of 18,500 girls’ life chances in eight districts of Afar through achievement of their rights to education. CARE International is a partner in of a consortium of national and international NGO partners, led by Save the Children.
The intern will directly support the project, specifically on narrative reporting and documentation of lessons, best practices, and challenges and to improve the generation of evidence related to the community based approaches (CBA) that CARE is leading for PAGES. They will develop a fit-for-purpose knowledge management system for the CARE project team to effectively organise and access relevant project information to promote critical analysis and learning.
