The DairyBISS project stimulates private dairy sector development in Ethiopia. It is carried out by Fair & Sustainable Ethiopia in cooperation with the Wageningen University Livestock Research. The project is funded from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Running from 2015 till early 2018, the project will establish a dairy business platform and a dairy advisor network. The dairy business platform will initiate activities in business development and business information development, covering technical and organizational innovations like private farm advice, innovative housing systems, and forage production. The dairy advisor network will offer skill training and coaching to dairy advisors and trainers, both independent and employed, can become member of a dairy advisors network that DairyBISS will organize.
The Dairy Business Information Supply and Services project is looking for a:
Business & Network Advisor
The business & network advisor will be responsible for the development of the dairy business platform and B2B brokering, business development support, and business information supply in a newly established dairy development project aimed at strengthening specialised commercial dairy farms. Business development support for farms and firms will consist of assisting farms and firms with advice on business planning and review of business plans. The business & network advisor will work closely with the dairy business advisor of the project.
Tasks:
- Develop and support a Dairy Business Platform, form day-to-day functioning to membership, and structure
- Support B2B relationship brokering between Ethiopian and international companies
- Support business development through trainings and innovation support
- Supply business information to companies interested in investing in the Ethiopian dairy sector
- Document business cases with business platform and advisor network members
- Advice on business planning and review of business plans
- Coordinate media communication of business information & project results
- Project monitoring and evaluation
- Liaison with sub-contractors
