 ROLE PURPOSE  

Manage a range of quality assurance procedures, and provide advice and guidance to the farm staff concerning quality assurance systems and their implementation. It ensures that the total quality of the End-Products of the farm conforms the product profiles set by controlling the overall production processes starting from the inputs and makes sure all the farm procedures such as phyto and HSE are respected. It also makes ensure that up to date systems are established and implemented. ACCOUNTABLITIES

The person in this function will be responsible for;

Ø  Assuring all training are done, effective and classify prove are kept in liaison with quality specialist in Syngenta requirement and all protocols;

Ø  Assuring the right conditions required in the cold store is maintained in every compartment;

Ø  Monitoring all criteria mentioned above and agreed as critical for the delivery / supply steps;

Ø  Checking the shipment documents;

Ø  Receiving to any customer complaints with respect to our products and make sure corrective actions are set and implemented;

Ø  Monitor Phyto test and external chemical information that could impact the site;

Ø  Sustain and set other dash board for production, irrigation, phyto, technical and HSE;

Ø  Monitoring sampling and testing of plants ready for Virus Testing in Liaison with counterpart in Cuttings operations;

Ø  Participating in Health and Safety issues within the company;

Ø  Assure water quality and quantity (production water) on the basis of EC, pH, H2O2, and Cl2 levels;

Ø  Assure the proper lighting system for growing (duration and lux value);

Ø  Assure purity check after transplanting;

Ø  Assure test and their compliance with standard for any water, plant or Media samples meant for analysis or diagnosis internally or externally of the company. Disease diagnostics and analysis of plant samples against any disease (Viruses, Bacteria-Ralstonia and Xanthomonas in Pelargonium production and Fungal);

Ø  Proactively participate in development of SOP, work instructions, forms and templates that keep processes output to the highest level of quality;

Ø  Assure that all up to dated QMS documents i.e. SOP, work instructions and formats are found at a point of use;

Ø  Assure that all the company protocols are respected;

Ø  Work closely with other departments regarding interpretation and implementation of any element of QMS to resolve difference and ultimately to ensure that the system is understood and applied uniformly;

Ø  Work with production personnel to analyze data which is an input for continuous improvement;

Ø  Assist to establish, control and maintain quality assurance practices which will enable the company to meet and exceed desired quality standards cost effectively;

Ø  Monitoring QA activities to determine conformance with authorized procedures and good practices and to make, or arrange corrections and improvements as necessary;

Ø  Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization;

Ø  Ensuring practical implementation of non-conformance found during the audit process.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES:

Critical Knowledge/Educational Back ground:

Ø  BSc in Horticulture and 4 years related work experience;

Ø  Experience in QMS;

Ø  Growing of plants in a greenhouse;

Ø  Crop management including Pests and diseases management;

Ø  Post-harvest practices.

 

Critical Skills:

Ø  Keen in details;

Ø  Computer skills;

Ø  Ability to spot faults easily;

Ø  Scouting-pest and disease control and chemical knowledge;

Ø  People communication and management, integrity.

 

Critical experience:

Ø  Production of cuttings and quality definition;

Ø  Supervision and training;

Ø  Disease and pest identification and management.

Ø  Understanding mature person able to handle workers on a lower level;
