PRO PRIDE, an Ethiopian Residents Charity Organization, would like to hire qualified professionals for its USAID funded Improving Reading Skills, Defining Childhood Dreams project which aims at improving the reading and writing skills of about 200, 000 early grade students. PRO PRIDE is currently implementing this project in 200 selected schools found in 33 Woredas of East and West Gojam Zones of Amhara Regional State.

1. Project Officer


Qualification: BA/MA in Social Science fields preferably in Education, Sociology, Educational Planning, Development Fields, Management and other related fields
Experience: 5 years for BA and 3 years for MA in educational project implementation, Monitoring and coordination.


Number of required: One


Main Duties and responsibilities:


• Develop annual/quarter plan to organize and strengthen the program


• Coordinate and organize trainings for stakeholders


• Organize various school and community based events


• Provide supportive supervision on the activities of major stakeholders (school administration, supervisors and experts of education offices),


• provide technical support for community facilitators under his/her supervision


• involve in the development, and distribution of supplementary reading materials, manuals and guidelines for the project


• Collect, compile and report project related data on a regular manner


• Prepare periodic reports and case stories


• Set high standards for implementing the project in quality and timely manner


• Follow up the day to day implementation of the project


Required skills:


• Excellent interpersonal skill


• Good team player


• Good skill in Microsoft applications


• Fluency in written and spoken English


2. Position: Program Accountant


Qualification: BA in Accounting


Experience: 2 years work experience as an Accountant


Number required: One


Main duties and responsibilities:


• Participate in project budget preparation


• Process payments including salary, per dime and travelling, procurement etc.


• Maintain project accounts


• Maintain project-related records and documents including contracts and change orders


• Facilitate transfer of expenses among different accounts


• Review supplier invoices related to the project


• Review timesheets of project staffs


• Prepare periodic financial reports


Required Skill:


• A team player with excellent financial and communication skills


• Skilled in computer literacy in all Microsoft office programs, Peachtree or similar accounting software knowledge


General:


• Salary:- As per the organization scale


• Place of work: – for No. 1 (project officer) Motta or Debre Markos town and for No. 2 (Program Accountant position Bahir Dar)


• For all posts NGO experience is advantageous
