Job Purpose:
Responsible to manage and coordinate the overall imported goods logistics activities. Work closely with the Logistics Senior Manager, Product category team, Inventory & warehousing team, Finance team, Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority, Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Services Enterprise, Banks and other concerned stakeholders to put in place timely and cost-effective import logistics processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Design new and implement the existing policies, processes and procedures in compliance with Ethiopian legal requirements, international best practices and the company’s overall strategy and objectives. Ensure proper documentation, including shipping documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments. Confirm documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to suppliers, banks, customs, carriers, National Bank of Ethiopia and other stakeholders in a timely manner. Plan and implement import logistics strategy and activities in consistent with the overall objectives and business requirements of the company. Handle the technical details of international logistics, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations, developing transportation (Sea & Inland) strategies, and building relationships with logistics intermediaries. Oversee ALLE’s FOREX requirements by communicating with local banks. Oversee ALLE’s business relationship with Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Enterprise and Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority.Ensure that the imported goods logistics team complies with the international business requirements.Follow-up and Troubleshoot any issue that may arise in international freight transportation, customs, Banks and other stakeholders. Monitor the imported goods transportation process. Prepare plan and manage the budget for the imported goods logistics team. Monitor the imported goods logistics key milestones database (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, etc.) Participate in functional and cross-functional teams to improve processes and meet objectives thereby increase customer satisfaction. Safeguard imported goods logistics operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Work on other assignments and special projects as assigned by the Logistics Senior Manager and/or the company’s Management Team.

· Minimum 8 years in FMCG and/or Logistics industries (knowledge of import and customs processes is a must)
· At least 2 years managerial experience, preferably in similar roles.
Sound knowledge of best practices and up-to-date approaches in Imported Goods Logistic management. Knowledge of customs regulations and international freight transportation Standard business office software (knowledge of ERP systems is a plus) Team player, flexible, analytical, problem solving, self-starter, effective negotiator and communicator. Independently handle multiple tasks/projects in a tight deadline, Manage and develop staff under his/her span of coaching ability to prepare sound plan and manage budget
