Join an international humanitarian organization and contribute to improving the living situation of the rural and urban poor in Ethiopia.

 

GOAL is an Irish based international NGO with Programmes in Humanitarian Response and Rural Development. The Humanitarian Response Programme focus on nutrition intervention activities, working with the ministry of Health to monitor the nutrition, health and food security status with its current intervention areas in Somalia, Oromiya, SNNPR, Afar, Gambella and Amhara Region. The Rural Development Programme focus on health, education, nutrition, water and sanitation with cross cutting issues in gender, environment protection and HIV/AIDS, in Sidama, Borena and West Hararghe Programme Offices. Incorporated into the Rural and Urban Development Programme, the ChildSPACE Programme works with ‘of the street’ children and youth working and living on the street by focusing on the strengths of children and young people; and through partnership building, collaboration and networking with various stake holders, the programme supports diverse community structures and initiatives through approaches that are Strength, Street and Partnership and Networking focused. The ChildSPACE programme is delivered by GOAL and directly by local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa. Cross-cutting issues include gender, the environment, child protection and HIV/AIDS. GOAL Ethiopia utilizes a strengths based approach to all development activities.

 

Requirements: (educational, experience, language, etc.)

Diploma/BA in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 6/4 years of related work experience respectively.

·         Experience/familiarity with OFDA/USAID, ECHO and other large International donor requirements;

·         Willing to undertake extensive travel and willing to remain out of Addis for quite extended field trip arrangements;

·         Ability to work independently;

·         Keen to take initiative where appropriate;

·         High level of detail and accuracy;

·         Very good English both verbal and written;

·         Internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, etc.) is preferable.

·         Very good training and coaching capacity and experience; experience in supervising and guiding staff;

·         Excellent planning and organizing skills;

·         Computer proficiency ( Ms-Office and major accounting application software);

·         Gender sensitive.

Remuneration and Benefits: GOAL will pay a basic salary of Birr 11,527.00 (Eleven thousand five hundred twenty seven) and provides benefits like

Pension – (11% from employer and 7% from employee). Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary and additional 300 birr taxi fare.Medical Allowance, birr 6500/annum
