PURPOSE OF THE POST
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Regional Programme Officer, assists in and contributes to the planning, management implementation, monitoring and the evaluation of education interventions In the Gambella Regional States.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POST INCLUDE:
Assists in collection and analysis of data for the Situation Analysis. Assists in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Basic Education Programme/Projects in Gambella
Undertakes ongoing visits to UNICEF project sites, assesses local conditions and resources, and monitors UNICEF inputs. Communicates with and provide technical assistance to local counterpart authorities and staff on project feasibility and effectiveness including monitoring the flow of supply and non-supply assistance.
Undertakes follow- up action on programme Implementation activities, contributes to teamwork building, and prepares relevant reports. Drafts changes in programme work plans as required.
Attends technical cooperation meetings at the regional level, prepares notes and undertakes follow-up actions and coordination related to programme implementation and monitoring
Monitor and report on the progress of basic education programme/ projects (Regular, DRS & Emergency programs) in Gambella and submit periodic reports with appropriate recommendations for timely interventions/corrective measures.
Assists in and contributes to the preparation of the programme status reports required for management, board, donors, budget reviews, programme analysis, annual reports, etc.
Follow up and ensure the timely release of cash and delivery of supplies to counterparts in Gambela and the utilization of UNICEF assistance to the intended and appropriate activities and report en same
Assist in the prepc Sian of fund raising project proposals, donor reports and other progress and evaluation reports for the assigned region as appropriate.
