Required qualifications and Experience:

- University Degree in Medicine and a back ground in Anesthetics is desirable. Alternatively, an internist with additional skills in emergency medicine is an advantage.


- At least seven years of medical practice including emergency care.


- Proficiency in English (both oral and drafting skills).


- Computer knowledge in word programs is an asset


Functional Skills:


- Experience in emergency medicine is required.


- Broad knowledge of adult medicine and some pediatric care is important (management of diabetes, Asthma, severe hypertension).


- Ability to resuscitate a patient in a resource limited environment.


- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.


- Producing results

Competencies:


• Professionalism: Knowledge of clinical, occupational and tropical/travel medicine. Formal training in CPR and, preferably in BCLS and ACLS or equivalent emergency medical care. Shows pride in work and in achievements; demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter; is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; is motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations.
