Job Vacancy Announcement


Project/Program Title: Institutional strengthening for the Forest Sector Development in Ethiopia


Duty Station: Addis Ababa/regional District offices


Salary: Negotiable for all positions


Duration: One year, with a possibility of extension upon individual performance and availability of additional funding.


Expected Start Date: Immediately after concluding the contract agreement


1. Administration and Finance Officer (6)


Overall responsibilities:


The Administrative and Finance Officer shall manage administrative, human resources and financial activities, under the direction of the DPC. This support will include bud not be limited supervision and coordination of all administrative, personnel and financial support activities required to the project, ensuring that appropriate control reporting structure are maintained in accordance with the government and UNDP Rules and Regulations.


Specific Activities;


• Co-ordinate and plan for office services, such as accommodation, relocations, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services


• Conduct analyses and oversee administrative operations related to finance and budgeting, contracting and project planning and management processes.


• Assist in preparation of operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls


• Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures and review, evaluate and implement new procedures.


• Establish work priorities, delegate work to office support staff, and ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followed.


• Manage the repair and maintenance of cars and office equipments


• Oversees training and technical support to project implementation, logistics and administrative staff for skills improvement in the areas of accounting, financial reporting and internal control.


• Perform other related tasks assigned by the NPC.


Selection criteria including knowledge, skill and experience



Duty Station: Selected Districts of Amhara (Meket/Wadla, Dessi-Zuria, Delanta), Tigray (Endamehoni- Ofla/Alaje) and selected Districts of SNNPRS.

2. Store keeper (6)


Under the overall supervision of the Administration and Finance Officer, the Storekeeper performs receipt of items, supplies and equipments for the project implementation,


• Receives, stores, and issues supplies and equipment and compiles records of transactions


• Verifies that supplies received are listed on requisitions and invoices.


• Stores supplies and equipment in storerooms.


• Issues supplies.


• Inventories supplies and equipment at end of each period.


• Compiles report of expenditures.


• May be designated according to department worked in as Storekeeper, Deck; Storekeeper, Engineering; Storekeeper, Steward.


Minimum Qualifications;


• Diploma on Logistics and supplies management, management.


• At least one (1) year work experience


• Experience in communication skills, utilizing computers including work processing, and spreadsheet is desirable


• Fluency in both spoken and written English language


Duty Station: Selected Districts of Amhara (MeketiWadla, Dessi-Zuria, Delanta), Tigray (Endamehoni/Ofia/Alaje) and selected Districts of SNNPRS


3. Messenger and Office Assistant (6)


Duties and Responsibilities


The Office Assistant will offer administrative support including front office management office clerical duties office logistics and organization


Specific Responsibilities:


• Ensure that all visitors are well received and attended to and that the office is kept clean.


• Receive and transmit all faxes and keep record and the accounts/ projects to be charged.


• Ensure that officers on field trips receive necessary logistical support to make their trip/s successful.


• Provide filing services, archiving and offer circulation of mail service within the office.


• Provide document faxing services as requested.


• Assist relevant officers in the project on arrangement materials for workshops, field trips and meetings.


• All other duties as assigned by the Administrative officer.
Selection Criteria including Knowledge, Skill and Experience;


• A minimum of Diploma in Secretarial Science and office Management, Computer Science, English, Economics and other related fields


• Good skills in English language.


• Good Communication skills that function across a diversity of cultures.
General Professional experience:


• 0 year of relevant experience


• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
