Electrician

With duty station in Addis Ababa-Head Office, reporting to Manager, IT Support, you will be responsible to:

JOB SUMMARY
Install, repair, configure and maintain generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical systems, equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations;


• Develops preventive maintenance schedules and maintains as per schedule;


• Installs, repairs, and maintains generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system and equipments,


• Monitors and maintains computer systems, printers, scanners, photocopy machine, and different UPSs, Electronic price display/tickers, IT related equipment and networks and


• Operates  a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions;


• Repairs and maintains high voltage systems;


• Diagnoses problems and repair or replaces defective parts;


• Work to incorporate efficient methods of maintaining new equipment or plant;


• Maintains a historical record of problems and their solutions and submits a trouble report to the immediate supervisor;


• Resolves issues with Ethio-telecom on the telecommunications infrastructure and EEPCO when needed including ADSL and LSDN


• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required Education and Experience:

• Diploma/Level 3 TVET diploma in Electricity or related fields;


• At least  5 years proven experience in installing, repairing and maintaining all types of electrical system equipment and components;


• Strong computer skill , knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade; applicable electrical codes, standards; electrical application for high and low voltage electric system and regulations;


• Ability to maintain, install and configure generators, HVAC, price tickers, UPS and electrical equipment including ECX Laboratory devices.
