Database Administrator

1.      Manage multiple databases, development and production at the client-server based system.

2.      Communicate with users to resolve production issues.

3.      Manage and maintain different oracle and MySQL databases.

4.      Carry out re-indexing oracle/MySQL database tables.

5.   Carry out database and application configuration for new lehulu centers.

6.  Carry out data transfer mapping and configuration for new centers using Talend,  oracles job and database links.

7.  Adjust column mismatch between production and intermediate tables of AAWSA like Book#, Meter#, name.

8.  Design Oracle and My SQL database using SQL and PL/SQL developer.

9.   Maintain and develop Oracle and MySQL databases and applications.

10. Carry out database and database objects ( database, tables, views, etc) auditing.

11. Test Oracle database and applications before deploying it on production      environment.

12.  Check the Database optimization and performance tuning.

13.   Audit front end and back end users of the system.

11.   Provide training for end users of Oracle and My SQL database and applications.

12.   Prepare database and application manuals.

13.   Manage different Oracle and My SQL database objects and create the corresponding table spaces and schemas.

14.   Discuss about the design and structure of the database and applications with the software and application developers team.

15.   Write programming codes for different database objects like functions, procedures, packages and triggers

16.  Handle a number of technical, maintenance, and support issues related to databases and applications.

17.  Import /Export database files and import to/ from the central database.

18.  Provides on call solutions and provide technical support to various users/client in the organizations regarding specific operational, database and application issues.

19.  Provide oracle and MySQL database users session authorizations and access restrictions.

20.  Make sure ethio telecom (ET), AAWSA (Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority) and EEU (Ethiopian Electric Utility) bill data quality checking is made on time.

21.  Export/import settled and monthly bills from/to Collocated databases.

22.  Make sure that AAWSA table fields update during settled bills transfer.

23.  Adjust Cust_name field size mismatch during bills delivery.

24.  Insert monthly bills from UBS database to kifiya SMS schema tables and sent SMS bill notifications to the customers.

Job Requirements

Education: BSc Degree in Computer science/IT.

Work Experience:  a minimum of 3 years
