About RI:                  Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development, currently seeks Country Representative for anticipated programs in various locations

POSITION & REQUIREMENTS:

The Country Representative (CR) is responsible for overall management and development of Relief International’s (RI) country program and ensuring that activities are in line with RI’s philosophy and strategy and meet the needs of beneficiaries. The CD is also responsible for:

Developing, in cooperation with other staff, short, medium and long-range strategic plansMaintaining effective communications with donors, tracking trends and aggressively pursuing new opportunities for program growth and start-upRepresenting RI in fora and meetings with partners, donors, and constituentsNegotiating contracts and agreementsManaging project implementation, including allocation of resourcesOverseeing the leadership and management of national and expatriate staffEnsuring the continued safety of all personnel and establishing and implementing emergency security evacuation plans as appropriateMeeting technical and financial reporting requirementsEvaluating and monitoring country program implementation to ensure that it is meeting milestones, goals and objectives and, if not, determining action needed to improve achievementsEnsuring that all program activities are completed within time, on budget and achieve their objectivesEffectively representing RI with stakeholders and donorsInitiating RI’s response to disasters and emergencies when appropriateEnsure Directory is bi-weekly updated as per SOP

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

Strong verbal and written skills as well as ability to multi-task effectivelyExperience living overseas and ability to adapt and work comfortably in culturally unfamiliar environmentsHigher education degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a relevant field of studyMinimum of 10 years of field program experience including at least 5 years of senior management experienceLocal language abilities are a plusOutstanding interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with national staff and multi-cultural teamsSolid programmatic, financial, and organizational planning skillProven initiative and resourcefulnessExcellent oral communication skills and writing abilityKnowledge of USAID, EC, ECHO grantee regulationsDemonstrated record in collaborating with local governments, rural communities, other NGOs, and United Nations organizations
