Save the Children (SC), the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need in the U.S. and around the world. Save the Children invites qualified candidates to apply for the vacant position of Specialist for Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP) in Ethiopia.
The PSNP Specialist will assist the PSNP Manager to effectively manage all components of the program in strengthen high quality program oversight, technical quality of program implementation, appropriate commodity management, evidence-based Monitoring and Evaluation, and reporting. She/he will be required to provide technical support in commodity management within the program. An additional focus of her/his work will be to develop strategy for program sustainability and successful close-out. The Specialist will support program management in coordination with partners and stakeholders as well as help to maintain and broaden networks to strategically position PSNP best practices in order to strengthen positive change in pastoral food insecure areas.
The position requires Bachelors Degree in International Development, Food Security, Agriculture or relevant social science degree. Minimum of five years experience in technical assistance and/or managing safety net or food security programs is required. Experience in managing USAID funded programs is essential for this position. Additionally the position holder should possess experience in programs with pastoralist communities in Ethiopia or horn of Africa.
The candidate should be a team player with demonstrated skills in strategic and program planning and a proven ability in promoting and collaborating closely with multi-level stakeholders. Excellent communication skill in English and proven interpersonal skills are mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and lead diverse team of professionals is required.
