Chemonics seeks an environmental compliance specialist for an anticipated five-year, USAID-funded project in Ethiopia focusing on increasing agricultural productivity and marketing of staple foods and specialty goods. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world and demonstrate leadership, versatility, and integrity in their work.
This project aims to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger in Ethiopia by improving the productivity and competitiveness of value chains that offer job and income opportunities for rural households in Ethiopia. The environmental compliance specialist will contribute to project strategies and provide technical expertise in agricultural environmental compliance.
Advanced degree in environmental management, natural resources, biology, or related field Minimum 10 years of experience preparing environmental compliance documentation Knowledge of USAID environmental compliance regulations strongly preferred Proven success in conducting environmental impact assessments Experience analyzing, advising, planning for, and executing best practices for climate change mitigation in rural areas Prior experience with USAID is preferred Previous work experience in Africa, preferably in Ethiopia Fluent English requiredSend electronic submissions toEthiopiaAgEnvtRecruit@chemonics.comby December 16, 2011.
