Agriculture marketing specialist

Chemonics seeks an agriculture marketing specialist for an anticipated five-year, USAID-funded project in Ethiopia focusing on increasing agricultural productivity and marketing of staple foods and specialty goods. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world and demonstrate leadership, versatility, and integrity in their work.

This project aims to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger in Ethiopia by improving the productivity and competitiveness of value chains that offer job and income opportunities for rural households in Ethiopia. The agricultural marketing specialist will oversee all activities related to agricultural marketing.

  Advanced degree in agricultural marketing, economics, agricultural science, agri-economics, agri-industry, international business, or relevant field Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management and market development Proven success in marketing agricultural products and facilitating development of new markets and expanded trade Experience using information and communications technology and innovative approaches to facilitate value chain actors' access to market information Prior experience with USAID preferred Previous work experience in Africa, preferably in Ethiopia Fluent English requiredSend electronic submissions to EthiopiaAgMktRecruit@chemonics.com by December 16, 2011.
