QA/QC Manager

Our client a leading European construction contractor in Infrastructure/Tunnelling & Power (Hydro), has a current project requirement for a Quality Manager to oversee site based Civil Construction operations on an RCC Dam/ Hydropower project. The Hydro Power project is US$4.8Billion, 15x380MW Turbines with a 145m high RCC Dam and expected completion in 4 years.
You will:
* Be responsible for set up of a controlled documentation system in order to assure the proper preparation, filing, traceability and maintenance of all QC records.
* Also responsible for interaction with the Employer and/or Employer's Representative staff for all matters related to QC implementation.
* Develop and implement quality control program.
* Review and approve supplier quality control plans.
* Monitor compliance with established rules, standards and procedures.
* Conduct periodic audits of the inspection/test activities and documentation.
* Ensures Non-Conformance Reports are resolved.
* Produce weekly quality report.
* Monitor and coordinate all quality control and reporting functions.
* Provide formal orientation to supervisors and inspectors.
* Prepare, file and distribute all QC related records and documents
You will have:
* A Construction degree (Civil Eng or equivalent) with PQE 20+ years
* 10 or more years experience within Civil/Infrastructure Construction QA/QC (ideally to include at least one Dam project).
* Ideally professional membership (i.e. IQA or CQI).
* Significant International experience (ideally to include Africa) and the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
* Computer literate
