Area Manager (West Ethiopia)

1) Strategy Development and Planning
Objective: Successful strategic development and national expansion in line with the power of ten strategic direction of MSIE. Contributing towards MSI Ethiopia’s strategy and future programme direction, with particular focus on driving MSI Ethiopia towards programme sustainability and increasing access to family planning and SRH services in Ethiopia

Contributing to annual business plans and facilitating the business planning process by providing strategic information to the successful partnership of MSIE with other stakeholders and effectiveness of service areasAssist the development of policies, procedures and terms and conditions of strategic partnership with local or regional governmentsAssist in the development of project proposals and agreements to be made for his/ her service area in line with the approved project proposal

2) Team Leadership
Objective: To maintain motivated and productive team at Area level

Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to the teams working in his/her area office and filed activitiesFoster MSIE Management culture and social business approach within the teamTogether with the Manager of Human Resources, plan and budget, the human resource requirement for the area office and filed activitiesEnsure that skill requirements are identified and team members receive appropriate training to support them in performing well in their rolePeriodically reviews the performance of team members and provide feedbacEnsures staff recruitment, selection, assignment, performance evaluation, discipline and overall management with in the area is in accordance with the MSIE HR policies and procedures and the country’s labour law.

3) Programme Management
Objective: To assist implementation of Outreach, Franchise, TransACTION and Clinical service
programs of MSIE

Ensures efficient utilization of resources including finance, staff, and logistics.Ensures timely submissions of reports and other deliverables from the field to the MSIE Support Office.Ensures efficient and timely implementation of programme activities through all outletsIdentifies private clinics eligible to work with MSI Ethiopia under social franchising networking arrangement.Ensures franchisee clinics with in the area are performing their duties as per the agreed up on standards and in line with the agreement they signed with MSIE.Provides technical support to MSIE clinics, outreach, and franchisees as well as TransACTION program.In consultation with the Training and Support department, identifies training needs of the MSIE clinics, outreach and franchisees with in the area and ensures the training is provided.Ensures all purchases, payments, inventory, and asset management’s with in the area are in accordance with MSI Ethiopia policies and proceduresMonitors physical and financial performance of all clinics and outreaches with in the area and take appropriate actions as required Establish proper filing and recording system in his area of operatioEvaluate the performance of centre coordinators and take proper corrective actionsCreates conducive and motivating working atmosphere in his centres and among program employeesPerforms other similar duties as required by the programme director

4) Support to Liaison Management
Objective: To fulfil the legal and social requirements of MSIE and ensure the acceptance and
recognition of MSIE by government offices and other stakeholders as the number one/two family planning organization in Ethiopia in terms of reach and quality of FP/RH services in regions of Ethiopia.
