Apply Opportunity to join a world class Oil & Gas Operator is looking for an experienced Logistics Advisor on a 12month contract on a residential basis in East Africa. About the Client:Our client is one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies inEurope. Key responsibilities will be to:* To develop the ‘base case’ logistics strategy for the drilling campaign in covering logistics HSSE, land transport, aviation, international freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing & yard, lifting and hoisting operations (including plant & equipment) and inland trucking.* With guidance and support from the Group Logistics Managers (as required), define and then manage the logistics execution plans that derive from the agreed strategy.* Provide scope of requirements to develop and award international freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing & yard services, inland trucking, aviation and general land transport contracts, and then become the contract owner.* Provide advice on the most applicable method of shipping materials and equipment, taking the local infrastructure into account. e.g. roads, bridges, railway, freight wagon size and capacity, marine vessel availability, crane availability etc.* Provide advice and ensure that all Customs and permit requirements are understood and adhered to for both the country of export and the country of import. * Overall co-ordination of site inbound materials planning, ensuring accurate stock accounting, inventory management.* Single point of contact to all internal users for tracking cargo movements.* Control the delivery of project and drilling equipment through consolidation at a central marshalling area before final shipment. The ideal candidate will have:* A minimum 10 years proven experience * International exposure within an Oil and Gas operating environment.* Projects and Operations logistics experience with an Operator. * Experience of exploration/appraisal/development drilling operations.* Experience working inAfricais preferred.* Proven Logistics experience is paramount with exposure to all transport modes for materials, project and personnel logistics; with the following academic qualifications being advantageous:* Diploma in Logistics and/or Transport Management.* Diploma in a business or management related subject.* Supervisory or managerial experience.
