Job Title: Finance Officer

The Finance Officer will provide the finance administration and budget support to the VSO Programme (Staff, Volunteers and Partners). This mainly involves:

• Making cash and cheque payments, including petty cash handling
• Ensuring proper documentation for all payments and receipts
• Ensuring that tax on staff salaries and other service providers are properly calculated and paid to the relevant tax authority every month
• Making sure all financial transactions are done according to VSO finance policy
• Ensuring systems are in place for the appropriate use of VSO funds
• Assisting in external fund management

Key Criteria:
• Diploma in Accounting or business administration or related field
• 3 years or more experience working with government or non-governmental organizations in similar post
• Demonstrating excellent planning, financial management, communication and customer care skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong Word, Excel, Microsoft Access and data management skills

Office Location: On the road from Haya Hulet junction on Haile Gebreselassie Road (coming from Meskel Square turn left at Togo Street around Haya Hulet area), up to Kebena Road near the British Embassy (200 m from Denberwa Gynaecology and Obstetrics Hospital). There are VSO signs at each end of the road.
