Currently Plan International Ethiopia is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following position for the emergency response:


Emergency Response Communication Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The post holder is responsible for the gathering, documenting, writing up and processing of news stories, case studies, press releases, video clips, progress reports and success stories (for electronic media, print and the web) from the locations where Plan International Ethiopia Emergency Response programs are implemented with an aim of enhancing the overall achievement of Emergency Response Programme, fundraising, marketing, increase knowledge and awareness of Plan within different audiences and thereby build Plan’s visibility and brand.

SPECIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION: B.A. Degree in Journalism and Communication (print/web); English Language and Literature or related field of studies from a recognized educational institution.

B. WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.

C. SKILLS:

• Computer Proficiency in MS Word, EXCEL, publisher, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Access.

• Excellent written and verbal English skills and report writing skills.

• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.

• Excellent level of integrity, flexibility, innovative and  teamwork.

• Excellent capacity and experience in news writing, layout, designing and media relations.

• Knowledge of additional local languages of Plan International Ethiopia’s Program area is an asset.

PLACE OF WORK: ADDIS ABABA WITH FREQUENT TRAVEL TO FIELD

DURATION: For Six Months

Emergency Human Resource Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Human Resource Officer position is responsible to handle personnel functions such as Emergency positions recruitment and placement, staff benefits, performance management, grievance and other areas of Human Resource activity. S/he supports and provides technical advice and assistance on HR issues to the overall Emergency team in Country Office and project sites.

SPECIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION: BA  degree in Management or Business Administration

B. WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.

C. SKILLS:

• Knowledgeable about labour laws; -

• Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills;

• Demonstrated technical and managerial ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;

• Excellent communication and presentation skills;

• Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, t transparent and participatory management;

• Proven language proficiency in written and spoken English;

• Computer Literacy in MS-Word, Excel and Data Base Management.

DURATION: For Six Months

Emergency HR/Admin Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the HR/Admin Officer position is responsible to handle personnel functions such as Emergency positions, recruitment and placement, staff benefits, performance management, grievance and other areas of Human Resource activity. S/he supports and provide technical advice on HR issues to the overall Emergency team in project sites. In addition, s/he is responsible to assist the procurement, Supplies, vehicle deployment and maintenance, Security, Liaison and other Admin functions in line with Plan’s corporate and in-country policies and procedures.

SPECIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION: B.A in Management/Administration or related fields

B. WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.

C. SKILLS

• Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills;

• Demonstrated technical and managerial ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;

• Excellent communication and presentation skills;

• Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, transparent and participatory management;

• Proven language proficiency in written and spoken English;

• Computer literacy in MS-Word, Excel and Data Base Management.

Emergency Finance Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Emergency Finance Officer is responsible for preparing journal entries and payment vouchers, processing financial transactions, entering data into the computer, making reconciliation, preparing reports and ensures proper documentation and filing of financial documents. She/tie also verifies all source documents for proper approval and documentation.

SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: BA degree in Accounting or related field A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience

C. SKILLS:

• Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills;

• Demonstrated technical and managerial ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels

• Excellent communication and presentation skills;

• Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to %-1V/P%IDS, transparent and participatory management;

• Proven language proficiency in written and spoken English;

• Computer Literacy in MS-Word, Excel, Access and Data Base Management.

PLACE OF WORK: ARSI, WAGIHIMRA, BUNA ZURIA (SNNPR)

Duration: For Six Months
