Pathfinder International/Ethiopia (PI/E) is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to provide high quality reproductive health and family planning services that improve the lives of women and their families in Ethiopia.

Pathfinder Ethiopia would like to recruit qualified and passionate professional for Community Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission (CPMTCT) project where it serves as a technical subcontractor to IntraHealth International with funding support from PEPFAR/USAID to increase demand for the use of PMTCT of HIV services through the creation of demand for service & community mobilization that is tailored to the Ethiopian Context.

Job Summary:

The National DCCM Coordinator assists the DCCM Advisor in the overall planning, implementation of the Demand Creation and Community Mobilization activities and interventions for the Community PMTCT project. He provides technical assistance in BCC and Community Mobilization material preparation to support demand creation, referrals and non-clinical PMTCT services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the DCCM Advisor in the development, of annual plans and budgets that will lead to appropriate implementation of Demand Creation and Community Mobilization activities and attainment of corresponding results.

• Assists the DCCM Advisor in the design, review, production, implementation and evaluation of community mobilization and Behavior Change Communication (BCC) materials to support demand generation, referrals and non-clinical PMTCT services

• Facilitates Community Mobilization and BCC trainings, follows up activities in the project areas and ensures full participation and sharing of responsibility of the DCCM activities in regional initiatives that have direct relations with the project’s objectives.

• Carries out regular/periodic supportive supervision and progress monitoring visit to project sites in all regions in collaboration with the DCCM Advisor.

• Attends relevant government and partner’s meetings/forums to further develop collaboration and to obtain new and improved demand creation and community mobilization approaches, methods and ideas.

• Establishes and maintains detailed programmatic and financial records as well as produce periodic program progress reports.

• Assists the Regional DCCM Coordinators in establishing collaborative linkages with relevant and supportive programmatic activities implemented by other organizations such as IFHP, Cervical Cancer Prevention Project, clinical PMTCT and other HIV and Maternal related program in the region.

• Carry out all other duties as required by management.

Required qualifications:

MA degree in Public Health, Health Communication/Promotion, or Sociology with minimum of five years direct work experience in community mobilization and PMTCT or BA/BSC degree in the same filed with minimum of eight years of work experience is a prerequisite. Experience in coordinating HIV/AIDS program or PMCT activities are necessary. Strong writing and communication skills both in Amharic and English are important. Mastery of computer skills in Word processing and Excel is mandatory. Ability to work with minimum supervision, skills to promote teamwork and effort are essential.
