Field Civil Engineer - Ethiopia - Ethiopia

Opportunity to join a leading Oil & Gas Operator on a 6.2 rotational contract basis in Ethiopia.

Key responsibilities will include:
* To support the Civil Engineering Manager in delivering Field Civil works within budget and schedule by offering close oversight of civil works contractors and Consultants to ensure those works are conducted in accordance with the company's standards and other relevant requirements.
* Make day to day decisions regarding civil construction with minimal supervision.
* Hold regular progress meetings with Contractor and Consultant.
* Prepare scopes of work, bills of quantity, schedule estimations and technical specifications for planned activities.
* Provide decision support information to Project Manager with respect to civil works requirements related to different projects
* Agree supervision plans with Consultant's engineers.
* Plan utilisation of contractor resources between projects to optimise company schedules.
* Supervise the operations of contractors on site to ensure that the Company receives value for money and quality in accordance to contract specification, applicable industry codes, Company standards, and industry wide best practice.
* Monitor financial and physical progress of works on site to ensure timely delivery of projects within agreed budget
* Provide technical support for civil projects by checking designs prepared by civil Consultants.
* Report site progress to Civil Engineering or Project Manager.
* Areas covered include design, construction and maintenance of: Well pads, Structural facilities, both soil, concrete and metal; Access roads.
Assess the performance of Contractors and Consultants against the following Key Performance Indicators: Product meet TUOP's performance specification, Right First Time no abortive or repetitive work attributable to the Contractor, Cost projects delivered within agreed cost, Time projects delivered within agreed timeframe
EHS minimum EHS standards are met at all times, Service external and internal relationships are effectively managed.

The ideal candidate will have:
* Basic Occupational Competence
* Fully conversant with MS Office, AutoCAD
* Bsc. Degree in civil engineering
* Past experience in Civil Engineering works
* Solid experience in a similar role
* Sound technical skills
* Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills - English
* Negotiating skills
* Management ability and supervisory skills.
