The Financial Manager ensures the quality of all necessary financial processes in large-scale GTZ IS projects in Ethiopia (infrastructure / construction sector). This takes place in close collaboration with the various departments (in particular Construction), the Financial Director Ethiopia and the Project Commercial Officer at GTZ Head Office in Eschborn.
In accordance with GTZ's organisational regulations, you will support the Finance Director in all financial and administrative issues. You will be responsible for introducing and maintaining standards, instruments and processes in the financial, organisational and administrative fields of the projects allocated to you. In this context, you will be responsible for financial monitoring, for budgeting and controlling, for financial reporting, for the management of payment requests, liquidity and foreign exchange, and for internal quality control. The projects are in the infrastructure sector with a large number of subcontractors involved.
Ideally, you are qualified in business management/ economics or equivalent. You are experienced and competent in financial management, project controlling and accounting; you possess convincing organisational talent as well as communication and persuasion skills. Ideally you have some experience working in development cooperation and/or in construction/infrastructure projects, if possible in the context of developing countries, and you are familiar with cooperation with international organisations. Negotiating skills in English are a prerequisite. Good command of German is an asset.
