Community Based Immunization Facilitators Job at Kelem Education and Training Association (Kelem) - 2015


BACKGROUND


KELEM is a local, non-governmental, non-for-profit & non-partisan Ethiopian residence charity association committed to actively participate in the ongoing developmental activities of the country, through provision of quality education and training at all levels. It has been working on Alternative Basic Education (ABEs), Mobile School (MS), Primary Education, Girls Education and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) mainly in the pastoralist parts of the country for the last 10 & more years. Currently KELEM is looking to hire qualified and outstanding staffs for the following position as stipulated as below:

Number of Vacant position: Two


Duty Station: Gulina & Hadelela Satellite Offices, Afar National Regional State


Salary: 5,400 per month and other benefit packages.


Term of Employment: contract and renewable on quarterly bases contingent on the performance of the employee and availability  of fund


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Ensure that planning and implementation of the project are in accordance with principles, approaches and procedures of the organization and in line with the agreement with donor.Work closely with the stakeholders.Develop monitoring plan and conduct the monitoring accordingly.Facilitate events like workshops, trainings, review meetings, etcDocument accomplishments of the activities of the project and results achieved  and share with concerned bodiesPrepare semiannual and annual reports and submit to Kelem Head Office and Health Bureau of the RegionUndertake other activities assigned by the immediate supervisor and Head Office.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:


Supervisory: None


Internal: Other organizational staffs


External:  Maintain contact with governmental officials, donors.




Technical/Professional


Demonstrated management and supervisory skills;Ability to transfer knowledge and skills formally and informally to diverse audiences; desire and ability to mentor staff;Proven success in proposal writing and fundraising;Incumbent will be expected to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of KELEM’s strategy, structures, and program activities;Knowledge of and experience in program implementation area is preferred;Excellent communication skills, Fluent in Amharic, English and other project implementation area language is a plus.Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc;Able to travel within program implementation area as deemed necessary.

Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to function effectively as part of a multi-national team; strong cross-cultural skills;Able to work with a wide range of stakeholders including community based organizations, local NGOs, local government and officials, donors, and colleagues;Diplomatic; able to manage conflict and move groups toward consensus;Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision;Mature, responsible, and professional; able to manage in an unstable environment with potential for unrest;Exercises good judgment and sound decision making;Excellent organization and planning skills; able to be detail oriented as necessary;Quick learner, agile, flexible, adaptable to different organizational cultures and operating environments;Committed to the values and the principles of charity and Development Association.Able to work with minimal supervision.

Minimum Level of Required Qualification


BSC Degree in nursing, health officer, public health or BA degree sociology or other related fields2 years and above experience of related position out of which at least 1 year shall be NGO experience.Knowledge of local language (Afar) is a plusComputer literate (ms word, excel, power point)Good spoken and written EnglishFlexible to work with the situation of the local  communityFlexible to work with traveling from one woreda to other.
