Graphics Designer
Background
ActionAd Ethiopia (AAE) is a branch of ActionAid International, which is a unique partnership of people and organizations committed to end poverty. It envisions seeing poverty free Ethiopia where every person lives in dignity and prosperity. AAE supports multi-dimensional development initiatives that are aimed at contributing to the efforts of eradicating poverty in its entirety and improve the lives of poor communities, women and girls. It employs partnership approach in which poor people, community based organizations, civil society organizations and government institutions have a stake. AAE works in Southern Nations and Nationalities, Oromia, Amhara Tigray, Benishangule and Gambella regions.
Child sponsorship is among one of the major income sources of ActionAid. It is a mechanism by which ActionAid raises fund through links established between individuals who live in Europe and have taken the missions and visions of ActionAid and children living in areas where ActionAid operates. Some of the supporter communications that ActionAid sends to individual supporters include,
1. Reports having various case stories and photos to show what changes ActionAid is bringing in the lives of the community.
2. Messages/Drawings and Photo Updates from the children they sponsor to keep the attachment between the children and ActionAid’s supporters.
Hence ActionAid Ethiopia would like to invite competent graphic designer who can deliver based on the requirement and standards developed for the publication of the reports, child message formats and photo update frames.
Objective and scope of the work
The Graphics designer will design draft 18 reports, 2 Child message formats on which the children write messages and draw, 2 photo update frames to hold the photo of the children.
The final report will have an A3 size, about 1500 words and up to 10 photos, the child message format will be an A4 size while the photo update frame is an A5 size. The reports are deadline oriented and the approval process of the print proof will be done between April and June 2015.
