Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases: NTD ENVISION and MMDP

ENVISION is a five-year cooperative agreement through which RTI supports and expands NTD control and elimination in priority countries and will further the development of evidence-based policies and standards globally.
The Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) Project is a five-year project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) with the goal of strengthening national ownership and capacity within a select number of African countries to scale up the provision of quality services for the management of morbidity, disability and disfigurement related to trachoma and lymphatic filariasis in a manner that will help to meet elimination targets.
Position overview
The Finance /Procurement Assistant will assist the Finance Manager to carry out activities in finance, procurement, and logistics/coordination. He/She will also be expected to support general administration in the project and ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement and RTI financial procedures. He/ she will assist with quality control, financial reporting and monitoring. The Finance Assistant will also provide assistance in ensuring appropriate systems and procedures (payroll, cash management, vendor payments, budgeting and other related to financial management) are in place to properly disburse, account, budget and report project funds which are cost effective, timely, have proper internal controls and comply with the terms of the agreement. The position will be based in Addis Ababa, and it will require travel to the regions. He/she will report primarily to the ENVISION and MMDP Finance Manager as well as the ENVISION and MMDP Chief of Party. This position is anticipated to be full time.
Responsibilities:
Assist on all procurement needs for the projectAssist the Finance Manager with all finances and administration of the program and ensure compliance with RTI financial proceduresAssist with the preparation and submission of monthly financial statements (including expenses, receivable and payables). Help ensures timely submission of expense reports, bank reconciliations and funding requests to corporate headquarters in the US.Assist on monthly, quarterly and annual expenditure reports for the program.Assist with preparing budgets and pipeline estimates for the program.Monitor cash flow and reconcile cash accounts to maintain appropriate cash balances.Carefully evaluate expenses, financial transactions and inventory in place to ensure they are in line with RTI proceduresAssist with all financial transactions are recorded in QuickBooksCoordinate the logistics of meetings and conferences as required by the program.Perform other finance and coordination related duties as assigned.Assist with preparing checks and cash payment vouchersHandle proper Petty Cash Management and ensure compliance with RTI Petty Cash Financial ProceduresAssist on per diem payments at workshops, training and meetings travelling to project sites, Benishangul Gumuz and Oromia regions and make sure proper per diem payment documentations are in line with RTI Procedures
