Position: Finance Manager
Essential duties and responsibilities: 
To develop and implement plans that enable the Company achieve its objectives successfully; provide up to date periodic financial reports that help top management in the country and at the regional office take timely and appropriate business decisions. As integral part of the Management Team, the Finance Manager is expected to jointly be responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s compliance, strategic and operational targets and deliverables and overall business aims.


Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Country Manager and reporting functionally to the head of finance in the regional office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
•    Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the company with close monitoring of day to day transactional processes to assure meeting of the strict weekly and monthly reporting deadlines. This is a major KPI for this position.
•    Will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, internal controls, and strategic planning. Additionally, he/she will lead and ensure that value added financial support is provided to all the departments within the operations.
•    Provides leadership, contribution and support in the development and the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
•    Leads and directs the financial planning and analysis function including revenue and cash forecasting, margin analysis, and budgeting. Develop and regularly update concise and timely business metrics for review with senior management. 
•    Provides senior management with advice on the financial implications of strategic decisions and business activities including but not limited to tax compliance, business development requirements and impacts and client contract change proposals.
•    Ensures proper management of payables including monthly reconciliations and payment planning in line with business goals and priorities agreed with the country management team.
•    Close management of receivables in particular the assurance of timely and correct billing, regular follow up with clients for payments, tracking receivables for regular reviews with clients and country as well as regional leadership teams. This is a major KPI for this position.
•    Ensures that effective internal controls are in place through maintenance of and circulation to the regional office a summary risk table that helps bring attention to any developing  finance, legal and other business risks 
•    Ensures compliance with IFRS and applicable federal and regional regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Monthly tax compliance reports will be required with appropriate notes on actions for continuous improvement of tax compliance.
•    Ensures presenting and reporting accurate and timely historical financial information of the company in accordance with IFRS and applicable laws of Ethiopia on a timely basis.
•    Ensures timely and accurate preparation for audit – internal and/or external.
•    Supports Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) based in Nairobi.
