The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit an Office Assistant/Messenger to join ILRI’s African Chicken Genetic Gains (ACGG) Program.
Background: The ACGG program is part of ILRI’s overarching LiveGene initiative, which is an exciting new approach to livestock genetic improvement in developing countries. ACGG is an innovative approach that is adapted to the complex realities of developing-world settings. The vision of the ACGG program is to catalyze public-private partnerships for increasing smallholder chicken production and productivity growth as a pathway out of poverty in sub-Saharan Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists all Office staff in photocopying, scanning documents and serves as a messenger
- Receives Office mails from ILRI Mail Room and distributing to concerned staff
- Assists the Administrative Assistant in making copies of documents, files and delivers all jobs requests to the concerned ILRI units
- Assists the Office staff during workshops preparations; duplicating materials, disseminates stationeries for participants etc.
- Takes care of ACGG meeting room, store and office kitchen
- Provides coffee/tea services for all staff during office hours, staff meetings and functions as per their request
- Provides tea/coffee or refreshments for guests/visitors as appropriate;
- Looks after the cleaning of ACGG team offices
- Provides all types of services in his/her capacity to all staff
- Assist the admin/program assistant in office clerical duties, office logistics and organization
- Receives, greets and directs visitors to the appropriate person
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school completed
Experience:
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- NGO and CGIAR work experience are strong plus
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Grade 1A
Monthly Basic Salary: Birr 3,390 (Negotiable, depending on experience, skill and salary history of the candidate)
