Logistics Officer

Job Description

1. Participate in field-based planning formulation in the area of logistics. Participate in programme planning and advising on logistics considerations.


2.  In the time of checking if any goods defect to inform the insurance company and follow up the issue.


3. Provide technical and operational support to the ERCA (Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority) at the time of checking goods physically as well as related documents. Advice on application of logistics management best practice, systems and procedures. Take initiative in management improvement for the logistic function.


4. Assess existing logistics operations systems and advise on corrective measures to be undertaken.


5. Ensure the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of new initiatives and procedures related to logistics.


6. Collect each shipment declarations from customs and reconcile to National Bank of Ethiopia .Also follow up delinquent –non delinquent in the beginning of each month.


7. Have to support logistics staffs in other offices


8. Manage all logistics operation including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery .Raw materials for Mobile and mobile accessories ,promotion materials, etc


9. Review the logistics component of field office budget proposals for consideration during budget review. Like ,employee transportation allowance at night ,goods transportation cost,…


10. Conduct special management reviews and/or follow-up on audit observations to assist in the improvement of office procedures and practices related to logistics.


11. Develop key performance indicators by which localized logistics activities can be managed.


12. Logistics officers have to co-ordinate and provide logistics support to on-going air, land, sea or rail operation in the area.


13. Prepare and submit all reports to the Logistics Manager related to logistics activities.

Job Requirements:

Education:

University degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics and supply chain management or related field.

Work Experience:
2+ years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international level in logistics.

Competencies:

1. Advance ability to multi-task.


2. Accurate data entry skills


3. Be able to speak and read English fluently


4. Good analytical and negotiating skills


5. Good knowledge of computer management and applications.
