Job Description
Nuru International Ethiopia is a US-based international NGO working to end extreme poverty in rural communities in Africa. Nuru’s first integrated development project in Ethiopia began in 2013 in Boreda Woreda, GamoGofa Zone, and SNNPR. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of site engineer who consult the store construction work of Nuru International Ethiopia
Detail Roles and responsibilities
- Regularly undertake initiation, monitoring, and supervision of the construction progresses
- Advise and follow the store constructions and report timely
- Evaluate the progress of work and prepare the payment certificate for contractor accordingly.
- Ensure the store construction is undertake as per the plan.
- Definite period for three months only (Jan 1st – March 30, 2016)
- The appointment will be for a long-term fixed employment based on annual contract extensions depending on performance.

Qualification Requirements:
- Bsc Degree in Civil or Building Engineering from Recognized University.
- Five years and above work experience in the construction sector
- Detailed knowledge of construction principles, standards and measurements.
- Experienced to work and manage projects within a short period.
- Experience in outstanding takeoff, and payment certificate preparation.
- Best understanding of the parties in construction.
- Good understanding in properties of construction materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, steel, etc.
- Preparing, compiling, checking and approving construction progress reports, as possible as on demand.
- Monitoring and controlling the quality of design, material, workmanship
- Supervising tender procedures and putting together proposals.
- Profound understanding in Estimating Bill of quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to the project.
- Good understanding of safety standards and scheduling requirements.
- Able to demonstrate servant leadership, a passion for development work, and the ability to inspire others to achieve organizational goals
- Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in English and Amharic.
