Job Title: Procurement Officer
Organization: Norwegian Church Aid Ethiopia (NCH/E)
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Reports to: Finance and Administration Manager

Norwegian Church Aid Ethiopia is a developmental and humanitarian non-governmental organization present in over 20 countries in Africa, Asia and Central America. In Ethiopia, NCA has been working with local partners since 1974.

Job Summary: Working closely with Programs and Finance, the Procurement Officer is instrumental in supporting program and administrative activities through his/her services. The Procurement Officer is responsible to ensure that all procurement and contracts are in compliance with NCA/E policies and procedures, donor requirements and Ethiopian taxation and customs duty regulations

How to Apply

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

• The candidate should possess a Degree in procurement and supply management and/or relevant business field



• A minimum of five years’ experience in Logistics and Procurement Management



• NGO experience is an added advantage



• Computer literacy skills especially in MS Excel and experience with using e-mail



• Detailed knowledge and understanding of procurement ethics, donor compliance and Ethiopian taxation and customs duty is essential



• Excellent oral and written English skills



• Proven ability to solve problems independently without supervision



• Conscientious with an excellent sense of judgment



• Possess the ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines



• Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people



• Strong ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with project personnel



• High level of integrity and honesty



• The Procurement Officer will conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to NCA and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission
