IIRR-Ethiopia is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Capacity Building Officer for Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs for Sustainable Development in Amhara (EWESDA), a project funded by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and jointly implemented by II RR and Amhara Women Entrepreneurs Association (AWEA). EWESDA has an overall goal of contributing towards poverty reduction efforts of Amhara Region through sustainable promotion of sustainable women’s entrepreneurship and institutional capacity building by working in seven major zonal towns of Amhara Region.

Place of Work: Bahir Dar (with travel to other zonal towns of Amhara Region)
Contract: For one year with possible extension

Position Description
As Capacity Building Officer, your key focus will be to assess institutional capacity needs of AWEA, plan and implement the capacity building component of EWESDA project, and document lessons learned in the process. The successful candidate will have integrity, competence, be highly motivated and enjoy working in a team.
The Officer will liaise with AWEA, manage the capacity building component of the project and maintain positive working relations to achieve the organizations objectives and outputs in accordance with the schedule and work plan.
Reporting to the IIRR EWESDA Project Manager – key responsibilities include:
Education
• Postgraduate and comparable qualifications in a field of relevance (Social sciences, Business management etc.)
Experience;
• Proven experience (5 years minimum) in developing and implementing organizational capacity development processes;
• Proven experience in supporting capacity development at the project level on economic development related initiatives;
• Demonstrated experience in developing strategic, processes and plans to improve operational effectiveness;
• Experience working in close inter-organizational partnerships
