In Ethiopia, CRS has a long and rich history of providing emergency relief and development assistance to the people of Ethiopia since 1958. At present, CRS/Ethiopia implements multiple projects through different partner organizations. CRS/Ethiopia has a highly diverse portfolio ranging from very large food-supported emergency response to cutting edge development programs. The current CRS/Ethiopia budget stands at $100 million with funding from the U.S. Government, UN agencies, private foundations, individual donors, and CRS private funds.

Position Title: Commodity Accounts Clerk
Duty Station: Mekelle
Employment term: Indefinite period contingent upon funding of the JEOP Program
Reports To: Commodity Accountant I
Position Summary:
To assist in posting and recording commodities in the Ledger and stock cards: To assist in preparing of periodical commodity reports.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting in posting and recording
Assists in posting and recording commodities in the ledger by commodity and on the stock card by operations; Assists Warehouse Keepers and Commodity Accountant I closely for smooth flow of information and documents;
Assisting in preparing Reports
Assists in preparing and compiling daily commodity receipts and dispatches, weekly commodity stock position and monthly commodity status reports;Assists in summarizing commodities distributed in a category basis;
Assisting in handling Receipts and Dispatches
Assists in keeping track of the returning of confirmed dispatch notes from centers, Assists in listing down all the un-returned dispatches and report to the Logistics Officer monthly;Assists in keeping a summary of receipts at the Primary Distribution Point by month;Assists in keeping a summary of dispatches sent to centers destinations from Primary distribution points by month;Performs other related duties as required.
Required qualification:
Education:
Completion of TVET/(10+2) Certificate
Experience:
3 years of relevant experience is required
Competencies /Knowledge, Ability and Skill Knowledge of accounting principles and practicesKnowledge of CRS/ET’s financial and accounting policies and proceduresAbility to post and record commodities transaction on appropriate ledgers and stock cardsAbility to proof read and verify posted dataSkill in the use of computers and peripherals
