Project Objective
The overall project goal is to conduct a clinical trial towards improving the radical cure of vivax malaria in the country and inform policy decision making
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the study in the study site under his/her assignment Ensure necessary equipment, supplies and drugs required for the study are available at the study site Ensure that patients are enrolled in to the study as per the protocol Conduct data quality monitoring activities on daily basis Supervise data recording and documentation by the clinicians and laboratory personnel Report daily/weekly study related information to the ICAP PMI M & E unit Ensure and follow up that the sample size allocated to each site is to be fulfilled in the specified time period Ensure that patients are taking proper medication Supervise the daily laboratory activity Closely work with the facility head and wereda supervisor to ensure that study patients are smoothly coming for the follow up examination Ensure that appointed patients are to be well traced if to Lost to Follow up Ensure that the study patients are coming on the day of appointment without any problems Report problems and any adverse events as they arise to the ICAP PMI M & E unit and/or PMI project director Quality of work delivered is given due emphasis and should never be compromised Willingness to work on weekends and holidays
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
· BSc in Public Health or Nursing and Master of Public Health (MPH) with at least five years of experience in clinical practice
· Experience in related research activities
· Experience in treatment of non-complicated and severe malaria
· Experience in clinical mentoring
· Experience in developing assessment protocols and writing reports
· Ability to work in team with good team spirit
· Computer skills (Windows, Word, Power point, Spread sheet, etc)
· Knowledge on the language of Agowugna is an advantage
