TITLE: Digital Green Project Officer
LOCATION: Addis Ababa, HARO
DEPARTMENT: Agricultural Projects
REPORTS TO: Agricultural Projects coordinator
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
Term of employment: Till March 31,2016 with possibility of extension
COORDINATES WITH: HARO Ag. projects staff and external contacts with institutions working on DG in Ethiopia.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist in the implementation of DG project activities in the target regions/Woredas/FTCs, support the capacity building of farmers, DAs and woreda ICT assistants in DG technology. The incumbent will also be responsible to carry out other DG related activities such report preparation and publications of posters and leaflets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Ag Projects coordinator and officers in all ICT and DG activitiesMake close follow-up and support in the implementation of DG technology at Woreda/FTC level,Determine package of practices and critical adoption points with woreda video production team.Conduct project quality assurance assessment in video production, Video dissemination and data management.Support woreda ICT officers (data operator ) in DG data base management system COCO (connect online connect offline)Report on projects-based challenges to Ag extension projects coordinator.Architect scalable technical solutions for the DGProvide administrative and logistical support during DG project planning and implementation,Work directly with Ag projects coordinator and project officers in order to execute annual work plans,Report on appropriate Program-based challenges to Ag projects coordinatorAssists in coordinating field travel for team as well as external stakeholders;Prepare effective field trip schedule and logistics arrangements on short notice.Provide support in gathering evidence from field to be included in various written project materials such as briefs, case studies and success stories;Logistically plan and track program events and regularly report them to Ag projects coordinator;Provide supportive supervision to project activities by conducting trainings for ground level partner and teamsConduct field level programming and documentation of results and best practicesFrequent travel to fields (about 75% of the time )Perform other related duties as required

Required
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum BSC/BA degree from recognized and reputable higher academic institutions plus certificates/courses in audiovisual production and database management.
Experience and Core Competencies:
Three to five years relevant experience, particularly in the area of video production and dissemination , database management , quality assurance, and facilitation on ICT related training, workshops and events as related to development projects;Proficiency with MS Office suite and other ICT related applications and programs Basic knowledge and skills in networking and partnership Good facilitation and help-desk support skills; ability to prioritize workload and multitask.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.Very good oral and written communications skills.Accuracy and strong attention to detailTeam Player; eager to take on challenges and work as part of a team.
Preferred: (Optional)
BSC degree in ICT, MIS, informatics, and related fields of study.Knowledge and experience in Digital Green technology Project management experience and skills including budget preparation and monitoringFluent in both English and Amharic languages
