Communication, Documentation and Publication Officer (CDPO)
The Ethiopian Society of Sociologists, Social Workers and Anthropologists (ESSSWA) was founded in June 1996. The society’s objective is to play a facilitation role in tapping the potentials of these professions and its members in social development endeavors of the country. ESSSWA works with institutions of higher education that are admitting students in those three interlinked disciplines. Graduates of these disciplines are expected to be key role players in the country’s social development, poverty reduction and social transformation. Guided by its three year strategic plan, ESSSWA has advanced its professional excellence to change the quality of people’s lives.
ESSSWA has secured funding for three years from Oak Foundation to implement a project that aims at “Enhancing Institutional and Research Capacities to prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.” The activities require the services of a Communication, Documentation and Publication Officer on fulltime basis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Overall, the CDPO is in charge of organizing and managing ESSSWA’s communication and publication activities including the production and dissemination of its research works, proceedings of its annual conferences, seminars and workshops and upgrading of ESSSWA’s website, which is basically Knowledge Management. The CDPO will serve as the main communication lifeline of ESSSWA’s members, government and non-government partners.
Qualification and Skills:
- At least BA Degree in Sociology, Social work or Social Anthropology with a minimum of five years relevant experience or MA Degree in similar fields and three years of relevant experience
- Directly related experience in knowledge management, information dissemination and documentation activities
- Experience in Social development programs/projects
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Practical skill in computer se and application of different programs
Project Accountant
Qualification and Skills
- At least Diploma in Accounting with a minimum of five years relevant experience or BA Degree in Accounting with three years of relevant experience
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Practical skill in computer use, specifically in application Peachtree accounting program
Salary: Attractive with good benefit packages
Place of Work: Addis Ababa with occasional field work
Closing Date: June 28, 2015
Terms of Employment: One year contract with possibility of extension based on successful performance
