JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Facility based Study Clinician-2 (FBSC-2)
Number of Positions: 4
Period of Employment: 1 year with possible extension
Duty Station: Chagni Health Center, Awi Zone, Amhara Region
Line Manager: Director, MLDM Project
Project Objective
The overall project goal is to conduct a clinical trial towards improving the radical cure of vivax malaria in the country and inform policy decision making
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Help the health officer in the enrolment of patients
· Administer study drug for study participants according to the protocol
· Complete the patient enrollment log book daily
· Link the patient to the laboratory for further required tests during follow up times
· Document the laboratory result of enrolled patient from the study laboratory log book to the study questionnaire on daily basis
· Archive patient information in a standard way
· Review forms for completion at the end of each visit
· Inform the study participant the next appointment date and provide follow up card
· Compile and report daily information to the study coordinator and /or ICAP staffs
· Work with the tracer to map and locate the address of the study participants
· Accomplishes on activities both based on the health facility/study site and household level tracing & data collection from study patients
· Should have willingness to work on weekends and holidays
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
· Diploma/BSc in Nursing with at least three years of experience in clinical practice
· Experience in related research activities
· Experience in treatment of non-complicated and severe malaria
· Experience in clinical mentoring
· Experience in developing assessment protocols and writing reports
· Ability to work in team with good team spirit
· Computer skills (Windows, Word, Power point, Spread sheet, etc)
· Knowledge on the language Agowugna is an advantage
