GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of development, resiliency and humanitarian responses – working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders. Currently GOAL Ethiopia’s major funders are USAID/OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid/MAPS, Irish Aid/EHAF, UNOCHA.GOAL currently work in over 25 woredas across four Regions of Ethiopia and we deliver a range of programs including child protection, development, nutrition, emergency relief and rehabilitation. In 2005 GOAL, in partnership with USAID/OFDA, established the Humanitarian Response Programme (HRP) to respond to emergency nutrition situations in Ethiopia. This programme has grown substantially over the years, and is now multi-donor and multi-sectorial, with interventions throughout Ethiopia.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional to fill the post of IYCF (Infant and Young Children Feeding) Counselor for its Humanitarian Response Programme Office in Gambella. The incumbent will be responsible for counselling, advising and teaching refugee mothers on how to feed and take care of their young children.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be a counselor experienced with humanitarian works. You’ll advice and counsel mother’s, establish women to women supporting groups, conduct discussion meetings, disseminate BCC/ICC materials on IYCF for use by community nutrition workers in the local language, organize demonstration session on breast feeding and complementary feeding for the mother to mother support group and organize health education sessions on the importance of infant and young child feeding practices. You must be eligible to work in Ethiopia.
Requirements:
Diploma in Nursing, social work or related field with minimum of 2 years related work experience.Experience working in refugee setting.Willing to travel to remote areas and to camp in the field, ability to work flexibly including weekends and willingness to travel and work in rural locations and live in basic conditions.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English; knowledge of Local language/Nuer Speaker, of Gambella region is a must

Desirable requirements:
· Having an INGO experience will be an advantageous.
· Experience in Infant & Young child feeding practice.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary
Birr 9, 442.00/month
Transportation Allowance – 10% of monthly salary
Medical Allowance – Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
Hardship Allowance – 50% of the basic salary out of which 10% will be taxable.
