Job Title: Facility Based Study Clinician-1 (FBSC-1)
Number of Positions: 1
Period of Employment: 1 year with possible extension
Duty Station: Chagni Health Center, Awi Zone, Amhara Region
Line Manager: Director, MLDM Project
Project Objective
The overall project goal is to conduct a clinical trial towards improving the radical cure of vivax malaria in the country and inform policy decision making.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the screening check list is properly filled Consent patients that fulfill the eligibility criteria Administer study drug for study participants according to the protocol Order required laboratory tests after taking consent Perform clinical evaluation for clients who are enrolled in the study Perform clinical evaluation for clients who are enrolled and are in follow up Teaching patients to come to the study site clinic for scheduled appointments Assign appropriate outcomes to study participants Review all case record forms for completeness and subsequent follow up on a daily basis Report activities on a daily basis to the study coordinator Accomplishes the activities based on the health facility/study site Should have willingness to work on weekends and holidays Handles transport reimbursements and provision of other compensation packages for patients enrolled into the study
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
· BSc in Public Health or Nursing with at least three years of experience in clinical practice
· Experience in related research activities
· Experience in treatment of non-complicated and severe malaria
· Experience in clinical mentoring
· Experience in developing assessment protocols and writing reports
· Ability to work in team with good team spirit
· Computer skills (Windows, Word, Power point, Spread sheet, etc)
· Knowledge on the language of Agowugna is an advantage
