SNV Netherlands Development Organization is working in over 38 developing countries across the world. SNV is dedicated to a society where all people enjoy the freedom to pursue their own development. SNV has been working in Ethiopia since the 1970s and currently operates in the SNNPR, Oromiya, Tigray and Amhara regions. In Ethiopia, SNV focuses on providing capacity building support in the areas of agriculture, renewable energy and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).

SNV is preparing to bid for and EC project with an objective to facilitate women’s business start-ups and market linkages by providing targeted technical training to literate women who have the potential to develop micro or small enterprises. The project aims to provide a start-up capital grant for women entrepreneurs, who have successfully completed TEVT under this project, to start their own business based on the business plan submitted. The project will also focus on providing technical support to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and training activities in business development services including capacity building of the Bureaus of Women’s Affairs.

SNV Ethiopia is looking for

Material Development Expert
National/International: NAT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional languages(s)
At least professional working proficiency in English
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia
At least 3 years of relevant experience developing and producing training and education materials for TVET or adult learning programmes and training courses
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field
Experience as expert on an EC funded project considered an asset
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business project preferred

TVET and Capacity Building Expert
National/International: NAT/INT
Requirements:
At least professional working proficiency in English
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia (national)
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in capacity building of TVET or higher professional education institutions
Experience of capacity building of government officials involved in TVET or higher professional education preferred
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field
Experience as expert on an EC funded project considered an asset
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business projects preferred
Experience in Ethiopia considered an asset
Experience in African context required

Development Expert (TVET, adult education)
Requirements:
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia
Experience developing curricula for TVET level programmes in agriculture and agribusiness in required
Experience developing curricula for adult education programmes is preferred
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field
At least professional working proficiency in English
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business projects preferred
Experience in Ethiopia considered an asset
Familiarity with gender mainstreaming in curricula considered an asset

Training Experts (including ToT) in BDS
National/International: NAT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia
Demonstrated experience (at least 3 years) in training and Training of Trainers in BDS
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field
At least professional working proficiency in English
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business projects preferred
Familiarity with gender mainstreaming in curricula considered an asset

Adult Education Expert
National/International: NAT
Requirements:

Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s)

At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia in adult education and preferably TVET

Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field

At least professional working proficiency in English

Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business

Translation Expert (English-Amharic/local)
National/International: NAT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia
Relevant experience as translator English-Amharic and/or other local languages
Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Certified translator considered an asset

Inclusive Business Expert
National/International: NAT/INT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional languages(s) (national experts)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in a developing country context
At least professional working proficiency in English
Master degree or higher in a relevant field
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business projects preferred
At least five years of relevant experience on inclusive business project

Gender Expert
National/International: NAT/INT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s) (national experts)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in a developing country contest
Master’s degree in higher in a relevant field
At least professional working proficiency in English
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business projects preferred

M&E Expert
National/International: NAT/INT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s) (national experts)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in a developing country context
At least 5 years of experience as M&E expert, preferably on agriculture, agribusiness, SME, or inclusive business projects
Familiarity with gender sensitive M&E and indicators considered an asset
Familiarity with DCED standard for M&E considered an asset
Master degree or higher in a relevant field
At least professional working proficiency in English
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship , or inclusive business projects preferred

Communications Expert
National/International: NAT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia
Bachelor degree or higher in Communications, Media or another relevant field
Familiarity and experience with EU Visibility Guidelines for projects is required
At least professional working proficiency in English

PCM Expert
National/International: NAT
Requirements:
Knowledge of Amharic or other regional language(s)
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Ethiopia
Experience with PCM approach on EC-funded projects
At least 3 years of experience in project cycle management
Master degree or higher in a relevant field (project management or other relevant field)
At least professional working proficiency in English
Experience with SME development, entrepreneurship, or inclusive business projects preferred.
